No excuses - the Phins MUST beat the Browns
It sounds like Browns QB Josh McCown may be out, and the Browns really have no other viable QB on the roster.
The Phins should have been favorites to win the game anyway, but now it becomes a game they absolutely cannot lose.

Confirmed, Browns now starting 3rd string QB, and we know in advance.
I don't know, maybe load up on the run and make him beat you throwing? Just an idea, but against a fatally flawed team - sometimes simpler is better. Don't overthink it.
Oh, and our offense has to stop going 3 and out all the time. Another great way to let a team like the Browns hang around all day, then you have a breakdown and all of a sudden we are losing.

In this situation, home opener, 0-2, another crap team coming in with a third-string QB, they must win. They should win. They SHOULD kill them on the scoreboard.
That said, it would not surprise me in the least if they lost because of another really slow start.
This week they have to get the offense started quickly.
We've been saying that crap for years now, though, and it's just hoping at this point.

Good God, the Browns have to be the 32nd or at best 31st ranked team in the league right now.
One thing I have to say: if Pead is healthy, stop farting around and start him. I think Ajayi is officially a bust at this point.

My prediction is tomorrow the browns claim doughty off the practice squad to the active roster. He gives them insight on what they run and how to defend them doughty gets a chance against the dolphins and runs a two minute drill the whole game and beats fade with his own offense against a stacked front 4 all the whilst breaking Dan Marino's rookie records getting the browns to the playoffs for the first time in decades........this kinda shit only happens to the dolphins.....

No, Cleveland already signed Charlie Whitehurst.
He'll probably get into the game Sunday and have the game of his life against us, prompting multiple headlines about the "miracle from Clipboard Jesus".

Umix, the Browns don't need insight on the Dolphins offense. Teams already cracked that code early last year. Sit on the short routes and play the run, and dare Tannehill to beat you. Done.

Re: No excuses - the Phins MUST beat the Browns
Injuries continue to plague the Browns. Their best wide receiver, rookie Corey Coleman, broke his hand in practice today and is expected to be out for awhile. Man, that team is snakebit.
The Browns have been very good at running the ball so far this season, but it's hard to imagine them getting a ground game going with a rookie 3rd-string QB and no legit receivers except TE Gary Barnidge.
This game should be ugly. I'm calling for a shutout, dammit! I even picked up the Dolphin defense in fantasy!

Re: No excuses - the Phins MUST beat the Browns
Cornerback Jamar Taylor, traded by the Dolphins to Cleveland in April, is starting for Cleveland and has eight tackles in two games.
Among 102 qualifying cornerbacks, Pro Football Focus rates Taylor 84th through two weeks. The Dolphins’ Xavien Howard is 63rd and Byron Maxwell 76th.

if the Phins can't get their passing game going early and often against Taylor, then they have problems way worse than any of us can imagine.

Re: No excuses - the Phins MUST beat the Browns
I hate PFF rankings, but I would have expected Howard to have a better ranking and Maxwell to have a worse ranking. And it is interesting that Howard and Maxwell are ranked not much better than Taylor...
But yeah, if the passing game comes out flat in the first half in this game, that is a very bad sign.

Can we trade Tannegobber to Cleveland?

There is a possibility for Miami to do that and get a great draft pick from them especially since Cleveland is a sitting duck without a good QB. I'd beat them and then trade Tanny for a their 1st or 2nd round pick.
