Officially in -- and likely headed to Pittsburgh
KC just made it official.
Since there's nothing at stake next weekend, the New England game would be a nice time to rest players for the playoffs; we'll see how Gase plays it.

We did it! We did it ugly. We did it in games where Tannehill had 60 yards in the first half. We did it with a running game. We did it without a running game. We had a guy kick a 55 yard field goal when the longest he made in the previous 4 games was 28. We did it with a kick return.
Jay Ajayi is MVP on offense
Cameron Wake MVP on defense

Re: Officially in -- and likely headed to Pittsburgh
Officially true, but with K.C. having a division title and first round bye to play for I'd say it's highly unlikely that a collapsing San Diego team can stop them.
This Miami team is impressive, despite the lousy run defense, which ranks 31st in the NFL in yards per play (giving up an ugly 4.9 yards per rush). Only San Francisco ranks below us, and just barely---they are at 4.908 per rush, we are at 4.889. Yikes.
But in the other categories, clearly playoff caliber:
Yards per pass play, defense: 10th (up from 27th last year)
Yards per rushing play, offense: 6th (last year 9th)
Yards per pass play, offense: 6th (last year 24th)
We declined drastically in that rushing defense category, as we were actually 13th last year. But vast improvement in the other categories.
Just glad to see some postseason football for a change, and glad to see these numbers to reaffirm it ain't a fluke!

I watch the game last night and was amazed by the beat down that the Broncos took against the Chiefs.
I have to agree. put in the second a third string for this game and see who is willing to keep their job, but at the same time allow Miami to play Matt Moore. Yeah he did okay in Buffalo but have him play against a Super bowl caliber team for the first quarter or two and see how well he does. I know we don't want to see Moore hurt but he needs to get some practice in with a team that been to the playoffs ever year.

When you are on a 9-1 streak don't stop the Train by resting players who are healthy, Maxwell needs to try and play this week so he can some playing time before the playoffs. I would rather have a chance to play the Texans than a rematch with the Steelers.

Absolutely agree. Don't let up - keep going full speed ahead. I'm not a fan of resting players, unless the game turns into a blowout either way. And yes - I'd much rather play at Houston than at Pittsburgh.

Well that what is sounds like Gase is doing. If Miami wins then They are going to Houston. Which means I would be able to go

Well, looks like Gase feels the same way. I can certainly understand going all out for this one, even if the possibility of a higher seed than 6 seems pretty unlikely.
No matter what happens from here out, this season is a huge success and gives us something to really build on. A lot of needs remain, but the younger players emerging and Tannehill looking better than ever before gives one a lot of hope that 2016 is the start of something substantial.

If Miami wins, and Oakland wins, we would be instrumental in kicking the Pats out of the top spot as well, which I would love to see happen. We go to Houston if we win and KC loses.

playing against Houston would be a better choice then having to play against the Steelers again. Bell and Brown are playing like they aren't human. Houston has no run game and both of their QB sucks, so it would be an easier win.

Re: Officially in -- and likely headed to Pittsburgh
Houston is a very flawed team. Really, so is Oakland.
In fact, O'Brien, Del Rio and Gase might well have turned in the best coaching jobs in the NFL this year.
O'Brien's team lost JJ Watt and ranks 31st in yards per pass on offense.
Del Rio's team is 32nd in the NFL in yards per pass play on defense. Dead last at stopping the pass, and yet they're 12-3. Also 27th against the run. They don't rank in the top 10 in the NFL in any category in yards per play on offense either.
Pittsburgh, on the other hand, looks like the only team with a chance to beat the Pats in January. It sucks that they're our likely first round opponent, since I think we'd have a good shot at making the second round going anywhere else. Steelers are peaking and healthy, and they have the only other Hall of Fame QB in the AFC playoffs.

Re: Officially in -- and likely headed to Pittsburgh
Agreed on the coaching of the three Hal mentions.
Gruden was talking up Jason Garrett last night tho, and with a rookie Qb and rookie RB, and that winning record and it being the Cowboys and all....
I would much rather see Obrien, Del Rio or Gase win it.
Agree on the dislike for facing the Steelers also. I imagine Bell will set a new playoff rushing record!

Lets hope that Bell get turf toe and not able to play in the playoff. I think that is the most ridiculous injury on the planet but still will keep him from playing against Miami.
