Re: Players to keep in Miami
I need to go through the roster one by one, but my first thought is: cut Jakeem Grant. Waste of a roster spot. His only position is punt returner, and he fumbles more than he catches. Too small and not a good player.
Re: Players to keep in Miami
It won't happen, but I'd dump Matt Moore too. He's cheap and the coaches love him, but for me - if you can't count on your #2 QB to at least protect the football in a playoff game, then what good is he? As bad as the defense was yesterday, we would have been right back in the game if Moore hadn't gift-wrapped the ball to the Steelers on 3 consecutive drives. Inexcusable...just can't have that type of garbage play in a playoff game.

If Carroo gets a shot he will be a good player.

His only chance right now is if Stills leaves in free agency or Landry or Parker get injured. Otherwise, he'll continue to be inactive because he doesn't play special teams. The #4 receiver MUST play special teams.
I'll never understand why some guys are unable to play special teams...doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't be that difficult to learn.
But who knows...maybe Stills prices himself out of the Dolphins' plans, and then Carroo will get a shot? You never know...
Re: Players to keep in Miami
Looking at the free agents:
Jordan Cameron: no way
Dion Jordan: Even easier decision. Not no but hell no.
Kenny Stills: I would do everything possible to keep him. Improved dramatically this season
Jelani Jenkins, Spencer Paysinger: only if the price is very, very reasonable
Would hope to keep Branch at a reasonable price too.
Michael Thomas: Falls into that "if the price is right" category. ST's contributions count
Bushrod: Appears likely to retire. Even if he doesn't, he's 33. This position needs attention
Donald Butler: position needs severe upgrading, would prefer to let him go

Re: Players to keep in Miami
Paysinger is really a great STs player, and with his extensive experience at LB I think he's a keeper. He's not a great LB at all, but he is a serviceable backup and his STs play makes up for it.
I expected more from Butler - he really showed nothing and there's no need to bring him back.
Another guy to walk away from is Rambo...he was horrendously bad.
Michael Thomas is indeed good on STs, but he's terrible at safety. Between him and Walt Aikens, can we afford to keep two good STs players that aren't worth anything at safety? I say no...but I'd keep Aikens over Thomas.

Yeah I'd keep Paysinger over Jenkins, the more I think about it, for ST's reasons.
Aikens is still under contract for 2017 I believe.

I agree with this. I'd also like a mobile back up QB.
