Koa Misi restructures contract

The Miami Dolphins have restructured linebacker Koa Misi’s contract, according to multiple reports, but the terms aren’t yet known. Misi, who was scheduled to have his neck injury evaluated in May, was scheduled to earn $4.1 million for the 2017 season.

Misi, a seven-year veteran, was limited to three games last season due to the neck injury. He’s missed 21 games the last three seasons.

The Phins are restructuring the contract before they even know if Misi's neck injury is OK???   Usually in a restructure, the player gets guranteed money in order to agree to a paycut. So in essence, the Phins are throwing guaranteed money at Misi before they know if he can even play. Cut all the dead wood off this team. Eat the dead money cap hit and move on.

I swear, this team really acts like they have their head up their ass at times.  I can't understand what Misi does to get chance after chance no matter who the coach is.  The guy is the definition of mediocrity...when he gets on the field at all, which isn't very often.

The Miami linebacker shit-show continues.  Looks like we can forget anymore upgrades at LB.  At least we added an aging, declining Timmons.  That's something.

The 30-year-old Misi has dealt with injuries in the past (he played just three games last year because of a neck injury), but can still be a productive part of a good defense.

I gave up on Misi long ago. He should be a backup at best.

I have to agree. Misi needs some competition to see where he really fall in with the D

Misi weakest attribute is his availablity. Injuries happen but, this guy seems to get injured often enough. He was sensible to take the pay cut and try to see if he can make the team.

I like Misi because of his team first attitude. I like the fact that he played wherever they thought it would be best. I really don't know how good of a player he couldve been without the injuries but, He can add a lot better depth to the LB room then we previously had. If he's healthy and starts I don't see a negative for the team unless we don't draft a LB to work into the depth chart.

Just opinion

I hate LBs that don't make big plays. Misi is a body when he's on the field - nothing more. Even without the injury history, he's a wasted roster space IMO.
