JuWauaaun James
Spelled his name wrong because, well, he deserves it.
It's rare that I get to say this but I will. THIS IS A SMART MOVE.

If we can get ANYTHING for James, we should grab it and run laughing all the way to the bank.
James, SUCKS.
We can easily replace him with someone like Sam Young, save a ton of money and probably get more consistent performance, if not a higher ceiling.
Finally, one piece of news I can LIKE with this offseason.
Now, don't screw it all up by cutting Suh!

Yep, glad they are moving on from James. Another wasted first round pick.
Knowing that we're going to cut him, I doubt we'll get much for him - but something is better than nothing.

Re: JuWauaaun James
Yeah, this is an interesting one. Another team doesn't HAVE TO give him a new contract immediately. They can see how he plays in their system, and try and cut a deal sometime during the season, or next offseason.
I guess the upside for them on a trade would be they don't have to compete on the free agent market and pay top dollar, he is under contract already for 2018, and they don't have to worry about him "choosing" to play for another team at a lesser salary.
It's not much, but maybe worth a low pick.

The Phins are supposedly talking with the Broncos about CJ Anderson...maybe James would be involved in that trade?
I'm not a fan of adding Anderson. There's a ton of good backs in this draft...no need to pay millions to a fairly mediocre veteran.

Typical Fins. Focusing on the least-important position on the team, and using trade resources there instead of elsewhere....

C.J. Anderson?!?!
This has Gase written all over it. Except even in that context it makes no sense, since Anderson's not really the pass catching type of RB Gase keeps saying he wants.

Meh.

Re: JuWauaaun James
Since we're playing Fantasy GM, how bout this one? We know Cleveland is wheeling and dealing and they just got rid of their DT. We trade Suh for Duke Johnson. The browns are said to be picking Barkley with either the 1st of 4th pick. That would make Duke expendable. Seems to me he is the perfect gase back, an all-purpose threat that can really catch out of the backfield. Plus, it would bring him home to Miami. I just do not want to lose Suh for nothing.

Good thought, but I doubt any team is going to take on Suh's contract. Plus, Gase apparently has a hard-on for CJ Anderson since he coached him before.
But yeah, I'd love to bring Duke back to Miami!
Re: JuWauaaun James
I not mad at this move at all. This is probably one of the best moves that they have done so far. getting at least a 6th or 7th round pick is my idea

Re: JuWauaaun James
SO...the Fins want to keep james. They actually want to keep HIM after getting rid of Ajayi, Landry and Suh. BUT...the thing is, they apparently want to lowball him. because doing things hallfassed is just how this team rolls.

Re: JuWauaaun James
Yep, that's the plan: dump your good players, extend your mediocre players. That's so Dolphins.
Re: JuWauaaun James
And the head-scratching moves continue:
http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2018/03/13/miami-dolphins-rt-jawuan-james-appears-to-be-staying-put/
The team can still rescind the offer by end of day tomorrow, but that is unlikely.
So, we couldn't afford Landry, Suh or even Cody Freakin' Parkey...but we can play over $9 million to a mediocre RT that is always hurt. #dolphinslogic
What crap.
As the Dolphins shuffle their roster and look to solidify the offensive line, they’ll save themselves some work by keeping right tackle Ja’Wuan James.
Miami exercised a $9.3 million team option on James for the 2018 season, and it appears he will play on that contract this year.

They could lost the deal on someone else and were forced to keep him.......Norwell got a ridiculous contract today. Who knows?

But the thing is, we weren't forced to keep him. Jesse Davis and Sam Young both played just as good if not better than James, and those guys are dirt cheap. Absolutely no reason to give that kind of bread to an average, injury-prone lineman. We finally find some diamonds in the rough on OL, and instead of giving them a chance to start we wreck our cap with James. Stupid.
Re: JuWauaaun James
well the low ball worked....actually it didn't they paying him 9.3M. total low ball move
