Finally a great move...though I wish Sitton was a bit younger.
The OL is shaping up! LT Tunsil, LG Sitton, C Larsen/Brendel, RG Davis, RT James
That line should be a big improvement.

Miami just trade for 49ers center and swap 7th round picks as well

Now we're talkin'. Get the problem FIXED.
Changes the face of the draft as well, unless the kid from Notre Dame is there at 11. If that happens, they have to take him. He's one of the best OL prospects I've seen in a long time. I will await Merc's analysis though. You, sir, have earned the right to be considered as OL specialist

I do not know if it is going to make much difference, but at least I think Sitton can play.
We shall see.
Bet they way overpaid for him though?

Yep, not a bad deal. Hey, the per year is less than we're paying James in 2018!
Re: Josh Sitton sign with Miami
Kilgore has actually been a better player than Pouncey over the last two years, at least per Pro Football Reference AV:
2017: Kilgore 8, Pouncey 6
2016: Kilgore 5, Pouncey 2
For what it's worth, anyway. Myself, this is one swap I like. And as JMP said, we got him for nothing.
On the negative side, Sitton's AV has fallen steeply with the Bears. Hope he has a comeback left in him. He was one of the best in the league from 2012-2015.

That's the thing with OL...when those guys start to drop off, they usually don't get better. But, we'll see with Sitton. My biggest concern is how many games he's played...he's bound to start breaking down sooner rather than later, and he has missed 6 games total the past two seasons. If nothing else, he brings some attitude and fire to what has been a very lackluster group of linemen.
As for Kilgore, he was supposedly considered a team leader in San Fran. But then again, so was Pouncey with the Phins... Searching around online, it seems like 49ers' fans had mixed reviews on Kilgore. But, I'm just happy to see some change in Miami. The status quo sure wasn't working.

Dang straight!
I was actually hoping they would clean house instead of churn the bottom of the roster again.
Yes, IF Sitton can play, that deal is not bad. IF he can hold up...given Tannebaum's record though, I am somewhat concerned.
The Kilgore thing was interesting? San Fran had just signed him. Strange.

Apparently once they landed Richburg, Kilgore was a luxury they did not want to spend money for. A few weeks ago, they couldn't know they would win the bidding for Richburg, so why not lock up Kilgore as a fallback option.
Worked out well for us.

Yep. And I also heard that the Niners asked Kilgore to play guard, and he refused.

thanks for the compliment.
most of the Notre Dame pre-season OL accolades were being thrown at Mike McGlinchey, whose a fine player, but when i tuned in to watch back in September (link below), it was Nelson that really caught my eye.

i was really surprised that Nelson wasn't (at that time) the higher rated player. well, it looks like the rest of the armchair scouts have caught up to me now.
