It's a real shame he never got in the HoF while he was alive. He was one of the best guards around.

Had the misfortune to be playing a position that is underrated by HOF voters as it is, and in an era in which he was a bit overshadowed by John Hannah and Tom Mack. One of the greatest Dolphins and would certainly be a worthy HOF'er; a bridge between the two eras of Dolphin SB success--he had an excellent year in 1982 at age 35, and the next year made his 6th Pro Bowl for Marino's first team. Never without an opinion on how things were going in retirement either. RIP.

Yes, a "working man" through and through. That guy brought it every single down, and played therough injuries that would keep most players sidelined for weeks. RIP Kooch - you were a true warrior.
