Miami versus Bengals predictions

a home game against a 2-win team without their starting QB or RB...this is the kind of game that a playoff caliber team should rip through. but that ain't the Dolphins' way. oh yea, the Miami team also isn't sure who will be playing QB or running the ball. this game scares me. i have very shaky, tenuous confidence that the Phins will win this one, but not nearly as convincingly as they should.

I think Miami takes care of business after a .500 road trip. I'll say 27-13.

Miami 24, Bengals 10.

The Bengals have a good D and good receivers, but I don't see them doing any damage to the Phins. This should be an easy win.

I hope Tua plays. Good experience for him to face another decent defense.

Flores wins the coach of the year simply by keeping people(coaches) guessing. I think this "Tua has a thing" is Flo's way of protecting his QB in a sense.

The last time Tua played, the Broncos has 3 games to scheme him. Yes Gailey screwed the pooch on his gameplan but he's still there we just have to bear down.

I think Flo is just that smart. It's almost impossible to scheme a defense for 2 QB's. I think he's trying to keep the Bengals guessing right now. This guy is a genius. Right after the Jets game he said. Tua will start if healthy! Thats the last time he said it. The rest of the week has been...."Tua's been dealing with something" but never reiterated that Tua would start if healthy. He also mentioned specifically that he does interviews in the morning before practice so he cant give medical updates. He gets the medical updates after the media session. I believe Tua is healthy enough to start. I think he starts. I think he plays really well.

And I think Flo is just on another level.

This should, in theory, be a brutal murder, even with the Bengals' D.

I hope Tua plays, but no reason at all to rush him if the thumb is still giving him trouble.

It truly is a luxury to have a solid backup QB like Fitz that you can trust to win a game when needed. I don't know what the Phins will do next season.

Ahmed, Washington and Breida all likely won't be available Sunday. Gaskin will probably be a game-time decision. That means there's a good chance that Patrick Laird gets the start against the Bengals.

I'm fine with that. Laird isn't really any worse than any of those other guys, and he plays hard and can make plays in the passing game. My guess is that Perry and Bowden may get some snaps at RB too, maybe some wildcat looks as well.

I still would alternate Fitz and Tua and have each of them fling it 25 times and run 10 times, with some end arounds and reverses thrown in (Grant anyone?) but that's probably just me. Or maybe do some of those newfangled plays that look like handoffs but count as passes somehow, like what was done VS the Raiders two years ago.

If we know the Fins have almost no RBs left the Bengals surely do and will plan accordingly.

Was hoping for the first Burrow vs Tua match up. So far Tua has been the worst of the 3. Someone asked me today am I disappointed? I said this will be determined in a few years from now not this season.
