Predictions: Dolphins at Bengals
I believe this game sets the tone for what we can expect for the rest of the season. Cincinnati is the type of middle-of-the-pack, not-quite-upper-level team the Phins must be able overcome if they wish to take that next step to playoff contender. I really see this as a make or break game for the Phins and a make or break for Gase's future in Miami. Unfortunately, the rhetoric from the coaching staff this week seems like the same old song and dance and I am just not convinced this group gets it and can really put a winner together. I think last week will be seen as the beginning of the end and I think this week confirms it.
Bengals 31 – Miami 13
For the record, I take no joy in this.

Re: Predictions: Dolphins at Bengals
The two teams have similar defenses: strong DL, slow LBs, decent secondary, never play dime. The Phins have a bunch of turnovers and the Bengals have hardly any. But I give to the edge to the Bengals' DL...Atkins and Dunlap are better than anyone on the Phins' DL.
Offense is where things look different. Yes, both team have terrible OLs, but the Bengals have a strong running game that they actually use, and they have AJ Green. The Bengals also understand that you have to score points to win games, and that is best done through the air. Dalton is averaging just under 300 yards passing per game, while Tannehill is just under 200. The Bengals are averaging 31.5 points a game, while the Phins average 20.5. The Miami offense has tons of speed and could exploit the slow Bengal LBs - but, they won't.
The Dolphins can win if they run the ball often and sustain drives that end in TDs on offense, and force a few turnovers on defense.
My guess: the Phins may force a couple turnovers (Robert Quinn strip sack!), but like last week it won't matter because they won't be able to run and they won't be able to keep the Bengals out of the endzone. I expect another road blowout: 34-13 Bengals.
Bonus prediction: Tannehill gets crushed by Geno Atkins on a missed block by Travis Swanson or Ted Larsen (take your pick), and leaves the game with broken ribs. He will then miss next week's game against the Bears.

Sounds like Wake and Parker could both miss the game.
Time for Harris and Malveaux to step up at DE. No excuses anymore - we're playing a bad OL and Harris needs to show up. Of course, we probably won't hear his name called at all as usual, but seriously - if he can't produce against the Bengals, he'll never produce.

Re: Predictions: Dolphins at Bengals
I am not expecting much.
But the Pats look like they are back on track, so MAYBE...
The Phins might not be as bad as they showed against the Pats?
Hope for some running game....if there is none...this game could get out of hand quickly....
And then if there is any rushing by the Phins, that the deep passing attack can hit on a few deep ones.
Otherwise....
Go Phins!

The Bengals put a beatdown on the Phins in 2016...I think that was a Thursday night game? 25-7 or something like that...don't feel like looking it up. But I think we owned them before that.

From '78 to '00 the Fins beat the Bengals 9 straight times then lost to them in '04 and '07 (big surprise) then beat them 3 more times in a row before losing the last meeting. So over the past 40 years it's mostly been ownage

Also, let us all pray they never use the uniform combo from the previous game ever again Look if you dare. But wear sunglasses first.

Game Day Fins at Bengals
If the Fins win they are 4-1 and need to gut out a next man up mentality and the FO needs to get some backups to fill in for injuries. If they lose it's same old Fins and another average season. Then I say trade away the old guys for picks and look toward the future.

17-0 and I'm trying just to sit back and enjoy the game and 20 unanswered friggin points. This team kills me.

The OL has been decimated. I try to give the guy the benefit of doubt but Tanny just sucks. When everything around him is going bad he just crumbles.

Gase just stand there all game with that angry frustrated look on his face all game. Well you picked him to be your QB and hung your career on him. Only blame yourself.

two TD for the Bengal's D. that is a horrible way to get your ass beat. There is no way Miami should have loss this game. This is all Tannehill fault

GATLINBURG?!?!
How DARE you not keep the rest of us informed of every event in your personal life 24/7?!?!
It may be in the same state I live in, but Gatlinburg might as well be in another nation if not universe. Yes, TN is very long and skinny. I might live closer to Cincy than Gatlinburg, seriously.
Oh, about the Fins, you might just want to save your DVR space for other stuff. This season's not worth it.

Lol! Clearly. But will I ever stop watching? No. Because I’m a total moron when it comes to Fandom.
Hey they did surprise didn’t they? This loss would have just ripped my heart out. Not seeing it happen, it’s like meh 3-2 and we competed- lol!

I never thought a Gase-coached team would lead by 17 and lose, this was literally the first such loss in his tenure. It also strongly suggests that his insane luck might have come to an end. Regression to the mean is a thing. Read my other thread for how weird it was.

Re: Predictions: Dolphins at Bengals
Okay so I did a quick search and I was wrong, I live 376 miles from Gatlinburg and 425 from Cincy.
Yes, this team and season have actually degenerated to the point where I'm comparing how far I live from other places.
(Grabs new pillow to replace the one I've already soaked with my tears.)

I wasn't so lucky. I spent the weekend in Montauk, and got home to find that my DVR recorded the game in full, in all it's shit-stained glory. And like a fool, I watched the whole damn thing.
