Good news bad news practice
The good news. Tua threw a 65 yard TD to Grant. The defense, linebackers have 2 picks of the QB.
Bad news Tua throws 2 picks.
Bad news Tua throws 2 picks.

Re: Good news bad news practice
I read that the 65 yarder was to Wilson.
I don't care about practice INTs, especially this early in camp. It's all about installing the system, building chemistry and getting better every day. Sounds like Tua is off to a good start overall.
Sounds like the forgotten WR, Allen Hurns, had an excellent day. The veteran isn't going down without a fight!!

After the ridiculous and absurd media coverage he's had to endure since the day he was drafted, I'd say he is used to it by now! LOL
Fortunately, he seems like a grounded, mature person and he has already overcome incredible adversity. I don't think he'll be impacted by a reporter saying that his 65 yard TD was thrown a tad too short (yes, that happened today).

LOL! Yeah I saw that too.
Well OF COURSE it would be better if that 65 yard bomb was thrown "in stride" so the receiver could catch it without slowing down. Wow. Yeah, that kind of accuracy is expected for sure (eye roll). This wasn't a 12 yard slant. Getting it out there shows the arm strength and deep accuracy he's got.
As Fitzpatrick said last year, Tua has got the talent to make throws Fitz couldn't dream about. He was a more complete QB due to experience and intelligence only - it wasn't talent.

Tua sure learned how to throw picks like Fitz. Hope he corrects that!

I think it'll come in time. It sounds like the staff is really focused on getting him to throw into tighter windows. That will lead to INTs early on. The hope is that he continues to progress and gets the rhythm/timing down with his receivers. It was not an issue for him at Alabama, so I think it's just a matter of time till he gets it down. One thing I've seen from him is that he works extremely hard to correct any problem areas in his game...he'll figure it out.

Tua's deep passes at Alabama were absolutely amazing. Throwing deep is the least of my worries with him. I'm much more concerned with him learning to take the underneath stuff when it's open, and (as I said in the previous post) not being afraid to force the ball into a tight window - while avoiding INTs. Marino was the master at that...hopefully he has some pointers for Tua!

I hope you guys know most of my complaints about Tua come with a little sarcasm. I do hope he is the guy that can lead us going forward. Hopefully you guys will be able to give me shit when or if Tua has a great game or year.

Of course CC, all in good fun and we are all hoping for the same thing.
Omar actually had some good insight yesterday. Tua was "sold" by the team beat reporters as an instant savior before we knew we would actually have the opportunity to draft him. Now that we HAVE drafted him and he's starting, the "instant savior" part is wholly missing. Thus, the nervous fan base - especially in light of what both Burrow and Herbert did last season (statistically anyway, forget about the importance of you know... winning).
There you have it. Hugely inflated expectations have met reality, and here we are.

Yeah, that sure has been the them for a long, long, long time. Let's hope they FINALLY have it right.

That's what I find really interesting about the Tua hate: both Tua and Burrows played in 10 games and their numbers were almost identical, and of course Tua won more games, yet there is this narrative going around that Burrows clearly outperformed him. More fake news.
