Dolphins star CB Xavien Howard has agreed to new 5-year contract with 50.7M in new money for new money APY of $25.35M per year. Highest average salary for CB in NFL Deal done by agent @davidcanter.

Yep, let's hope he buckles down and leads the league in INTs again....but I doubt many teams will throw his way.

I like to see the Phins reward their own players.

Maybe Gesicki will be the next to sign a long term deal.

Glad for X he is a key part of our defense. It's possible with the new deal we could look to trade him next year or year after. Either that or something gets done with Jones. I find it hard to believe we will pay TWO corners as elite on a long term basis.

With a rookie deal QB, teams have the flexibility to do this kind of thing - for the term of his deal...
