Having Open Heart Surgery next week

Holy smokes! This sounds stupid, because it's open heart surgery, but is it a major thing, like a valve?

Mitral valve prolapse. Funny thing is I'm in the best shape of my life and have zero symptoms other than a murmur.

It depends on how big the incision. I'm guessing 5 weeks. I don't get to speak to the actual surgeon until Tuesday. If I die before then I'm going to be fucking pissed.

The surgery is in Cincinnati, so I'm fucked. But Christ Hosoital is highly ranked.

Hope all goes well. My dad had this surgery over a year ago and has been doing great since.

Update:  surgery in two weeks.  The surgeons are debating open heart versus non evasive surgery.  They found an artery that was 80% blocked which has complicated the matter.  But what I really want you all to understand is I HAVE NO SYMPTOMS.   I feel fantastic.  Before my physical I was running 5 miles twice a week a lifting weights 4 times per week.  If my doctor had not detected a heart murmur I would have been dead by Christmas.  My point is see your fucking Doctor every six months.  My doctor might have saved my life.

Hopefully they can just ablate the artery.  The more non-invasive the better.  Getting the zipper sucks. There are a lot of interesting therapies for blocked arteries nowadays, so maybe they'l do something different for that other than ablation.

What's going on??? How did it go??? I have been thinking about this all weekend.

This might be the most boring June-July period I can recall...there's literally nothing happening. Sure, we signed Foster...but everyone knew that was probably going to happen. I've stooped to the level of posting about a mythical QB roulette wheel just to generate some interest, for Pete's sake!

Bird e-mailed me back, so it's all good Basically it's multiple steps instead of one big surgery, with the final one on August 15th. He'll be laid up for 4 weeks or so after that, but should otherwise be fine and is thinking about buying a PS4, so maybe he can rebuild the Fins in Madden '17.
