Alonso gets 1st rd tender

Miami Dolphins are giving restricted free agent linebacker Kiko Alonso a first-round tender at $3.91 million, per league source.

The Dolphins and Alonso’s representation can continue to discuss a long-term extension, but this virtually guarantees that he will remain with the club in 2017.

Thomas and Williams got the lowest possible tender I believe. I'd say both are gone. Please replace Williams with a thumper that can catch.

I hope the Phins let Alonso play for the tender...I really don't want to see him get a long-term deal until he proves he can stay healthy.

I believe it is more about trusting he isn't going to get injured before they sign him to a long term deal

I really love Kiiko the person. I just can't get past those puny arms and don't trust him to stay healthy.

I guess the first round tender doesn't show to bad then. If he gets injured then he won't be a total waste of money
