Next Trade: Alonso to Saints

In return, we get one of their linebackers, Vince Biegel. Drafted in 2017 in the fourth round, a classic 3-4 "tweener" projected as a pass rusher out of 3-4 but too stiff to play as a OLB strong side in a 4-3.

Biegel just another guy with potential, hasn't proven anything yet, but probably a better fit in our scheme than Alonso. Plus still on rookie deal.

And I think Biegel is decent on STs, so that helps too.

I think in the Saints game, the announcers were saying Biegel could line up at DE some and pressure the passer!

Yeah, Kiko was not as bad as some...(cough (JMP) cough) said, but I never understood the big contract either.

It's about scheme fit. Alonso simply didn't fit this scheme, while Biegel is a hybrid LB/DE that could potentially fill the Patriots' Kyle Van Noy role in Miami.

Kiko definitely made some big splash plays. But the majority of the time, he sucked. Absolutely awful technique...just a real sloppy player.

For all the fanfare about him in Miami, he was at best an average linebacker.
