Re: Overall thoughts
Totally valid point, I can see both sides.
The bottom line is going to be, were they right on the guys they selected, more often than they were wrong? If Carroo turns into a stud, the cost of picking him quickly fades. If he turns into a bust, the criticism on that move just gains more momentum.
The same is going to happen with every guy we selected this year.

Re: Overall thoughts
i looked at some of the other reports for the Phins draft picks in the link posted by Birdmond...
http://www.steelersdepot.com/2017/02/2017-nfl-draft-player-profiles-missouri-olb-charles-harris/
WOW!!
but then...
http://www.steelersdepot.com/2017/03/2017-nfl-draft-player-profiles-clemson-cb-cordrea-tankersley/
Tankersley is extremely grabby. its almost like he has all the tools (size, speed, agility), but just doesn't have the ability to mirror a receiver unless he's hanging on. even in the 2nd "positive" video gif of the pass breakup against ND, he's got a hold of the WR's shoulder and gives a yank just before the ball arrives. that'll get a definite flag in the NFL.
oh, and don't even mention his tackling. its not that he can't tackle - he just clearly doesn't want to.
Every guy that has been a big name coming out of Missouri as a pass rusher has flourished in the NFL, and Harris will continue to roll on as another product of Pass Rusher U.
At 6’3’, 255 pounds, Harris is an absolute freak off the edge. Nearly unblockable the last two seasons as a starter for the Tigers, it’s about time we start recognizing Harris as a bonafide stud in this loaded edge class.
When it’s all said and done with Combine results and Pro Day numbers, Harris should be considered the No. 1 or No. 2 EDGE guy right up there with Myles Garrett

Birdmond wrote:Good read on McMillan and it's spot on with tape to back it up.

The same writer also has a glowing profile on Harris with film to back it up as well. Makes it seem like we got a value at 22. Sure hope so.

Re: Overall thoughts
Keep in mind that the Steelers run a 3-4, where IMO Harris would have been a much better fit as an OLB.
Ultimately, we'll just have to wait and see. After endless years of wasted drafts, I'm not about to get too excited this early about a Dolphins draft. I absolutely hate when people say you need years to judge a draft, but in this case, it may be true - because most if not all of these Dolphin picks will start the season as backups, role players and special teamers and we may not know exactly what we have until they (hopefully) earn starting jobs in a year or two.

Re: Overall thoughts
I agree with W1, which seems to be a pattern....
They have a few players ranked at or around their picks, and they take the highest rated one, or if they are equal, hey take the one that they think has the biggest upside.
I gave up trying to figure out the draft several years ago.
I was just glad to see that Gase seems to be reigning in Tannenbaum's urge to mortgage the future for a player of dubious talent today!
Did I say Caroo? No I did not? It looks like he is a stinkeroonie, but I learned my lesson with PRO BOWLER Chris Chambers!!! Hah!!! I hit DF316 with that one yet again!!!
Unless some of these players really come on fast and actually HELP the team this year, I think this team may take a step back.... Unless the offense comes together early in the season.
I am gonna give it a year or two before I start blazing away with my anonymous football message board expertise!!!
