Phins lose kicker Cody Parkey

Another hole on the roster...

According to Adam Schefter, Cody Parkey is signing with the Bears.

Parkey didn't get many FG opportunities last season, but I thought he was the best kicker we had in years. The talent drain continues...

Not going to go bonkers over not bringing back the kicker, but damn, why would you just create yet one more hole to fill? No, Parkey is not irreplaceable, but how much money are you really going to save in signing a street FA, as opposed to bringing this guy back? I guess you will now hear more of the "locker room culture" talk that is now being spewed by the FO. Yeah, that Parkey guy sure was a jerk. Wonder what he did or said to gase.

I don’t think Parker was worth giving him a second contract. Kickers are like RB’s now days you can find one anywhere. We hardly score anyway so we might as well go fo 2 everytime we score.

I agree that kicker isn't a big issue...unless you have a bad one. And until Parkey, we had a bunch of bad kickers. Bottom line: we lost another good player and now have another hole to fill. Not devastating, but just another need.

Gase probably held a grudge from that one time Parkey expressed himself honestly on social media.

It really is getting comically absurd at this point.
