It doesn't end...another player on IR. This one hurts...Big Vince was becoming one of my favorite players, and IMO he was the only consistent D-lineman on the team. Sad

One of our few really good draft day values in recent years that's still here. Sad

Yep, we will finish 6-10 or 7-9 and Gase will blame the injuries. Wilson, Sitton, Kilgore, Taylor, et al.....

It won't be without some justification, but the lack of depth and any kind of legitimate Plan B for any of these is on the man with final say.

We need to move on, but Ross will bring Gase AND Tanny back for 2019, unfortunately.

And the shits just keep on coming...

Anybody who thinks this team will win as many as 6 games now is the Overlord Of Optimism. I'm not even sure they'll HAVE a team in another month.

Just wait until the "sudden" announcement that Tannehill is out for the season, that'll be coming within the next week or two.

Bleh.

Well, they have the Bills twice and the Jests at home. And for some reason, we always seem to beat the Patriots in Miami, no matter how pathetic we are in a particular year. The one year we didn't in the last five? 2016, when we had our best team of the decade. So this year's rapidly falling apart team has just as good a shot at NE as the other dumpster fires.

Given that, if they can't win at least two of the last 8, maybe Ross will blow it up. But I doubt it. They'll win 7-9 "despite the injuries", and Ross will see progress where no one else does.

that's okay, just plug in Phillips. oops, that's right, he was sent packing.

well, they can't miss Taylor that much. i mean after all, he's the one who was being played the least. yes, that was sarcasm.

1) Taylor should have played a lot more. He graded out by far the best of Miami’s three defensive tackles – ranking 17th overall among all NFL defensive tackles – and yet he played the least, just 204 snaps compared with 357 for Godchaux and 318 for Spence.

Before his injury, Taylor told me that “a case could be made” that he should have played more this season but he decided not to make an issue of it.

2) The Dolphins likely overestimated Spence because of defensive line coach Kris Kocurek’s affection for him and familiarity with him after coaching him in Detroit last year. PFF rates him 82nd among 108 qualifying defensive tackles. Godchaux is 35th.

Spence is even worse in “run stop percentage” – 90th overall. PFF describes that as “the percentage of stops per snap played only in run defense.”

3) Kocurek’s comfort with Spence led to less playing time for Phillips, which led to his complaints about playing time, which led to his release. For all of his inconsistencies, the Dolphins certainly could use him now. Phillips is now with Buffalo.

Phillips was trash so I won't complain about his release. Just another bust in the 2nd round, added to the long list of reasons titled "Why We Still Suck." Charles Harris is the next entry by the way.

I will complain because the lack of quality starters and depth on the defensive line has now been exposed. Spence was a terrible signing. Hayes was a known injury risk. Wake should not be expected to play on running downs, at his age you want him playing a pass rush specialist role. Quinn is looking more and more like another terrible trade acquisition. The latest two signings are desperation moves. The only thing these new players have is experience. They are not good and were out of the league until we snapped them up.

Look, this team does NOT largely stand pat every offseason. They make more than enough moves. The problem is they miss on most of them. So you're either swapping trash for more trash, or actually making a position weaker in the process.

If Ross doesn't see this he's blind. A front office that treads water year to year will NEVER field a serious playoff contender. At best they will squeak in only to be destroyed in the first round. Is that what he wants?

Spence sucks. The guy is literally just a body on the field...he does absolutely nothing. At least Andre Branch - who sucks too - makes a play every now and again. And Ziggy Hood is probably worse than both of them. Teams are going to feast on the middle of this line - even moreso than they already have.

The fact that Spence out-snapped Taylor by such a large margin shows how clueless this staff is. A blind monkey could see that Taylor is vastly outperforming him.

Phillips may not have been THE answer, but he's better than Spence and Hood. I watched the Monday night game and saw him make some plays against the Patriots. Of course, the Bills' defensive scheme is much better than ours, but regardless, we are not in a position where we can dump young talent - however mediocre - only to replace it with vets pulled from the NFL garbage dump.

Someone needs to be held accountable for not adequately replacing Suh. You want to get rid of him, that's fine...but don't replace him with crap and expect positive results.

No matter what thread, I will continue to reiterate the point!!!! Miami must implode the whole organization. Front office to coaching staff to players. It needs to be rebuilt! We need to start now!

Think of how many years we've been asking to blow this whole pile up.

Just think of it.

It's a long time.

Ross is not going to make that move. Most likely he will keep Tannebaum, kick Gase and everyone else.

Everyone needs to go, but at this point I just want Gase gone. I can't even look at him anymore...he makes me sick to my stomach.

So long that if Ross had done it when we first wanted him to, the Fins would either be legit contenders or he would've had time to do it again.

Does he not know the Rams exist? Does he not realize that they were one step above the Browns in the suckitude hierarchy just 3 years ago and are now 8-0? And obviously there's no thought process of "Hey, maybe I'll find out how the Rams turned things around so quickly and copy them."

If Ross chooses to retain Tannenbaum he's dumber than I thought. And that's saying something.

He has to either keep everyone, or sweep them all out the door and start over. These piece-meal one-off firings and half/re-starts are holding us back.

Also, stop letting the execs and coaches play power games to get the other fired. Make them understand they live or die together.

As much as I bag on the Browns they at least got it right by firing both Hue and Haley instead of allowing one of them to think he "won" their obvious power struggle.

TRUTH right there! if Tannenbaum stays, we can all kiss any chance of a decent coach goodbye. no serious contender worth his salt will come to Miami after seeing how Tannenbaum runs things (for a second time around).
