Miami Wins two games and no one talking about it
So has anyone notice that no one is talking about Miami anymore. They win back to back games and now ESPN and NFL network is silent

Yeah, I wonder if what Cincinnati is doing is an immoral disgrace, what with starting Finley and just giving up on being competitive?

I also notice that the Bengals didn't activate AJ Green either. Signs of change coming

I was literally wondering the exact same thing last night. Gotta love the way modern media forms a predetermined narrative that an individual or group is bad and evil and then everything said about them sticks to that narrative even after it's established how ludicrously untrue it is. Bashing the Bengals for tanking would go against the narrative that the Fins intended to be 0-16 all along so we can't have that, you see. Things like 'reporting" and "journalism" are long extinct. I'll even go as far as to say the media right now are pissed at the Fins for having the unmitigated gall to dare step outside the premade box they were supposed to stay in. How DARE anyone act differently then what we've already decided they are?!?! It really is pathetic.
And TBH I hope the Fins DO beat the Bengals now because I'll be DAMNED if Cincy gets their only win of the season over THIS team

The media is all about the trades we made, not for one second saying out loud that it's actually well within the current defined rules, and one of the best ways to actually improve your team for the long term. What they're really saying is, "Miami should continue to languish in mediocrity to terribleocitude forever, because we hate Don Shula and the perfect season. When they are all long dead, maybe we will accept that it is okay for Miami to be good again."
However, as of now, there is virtually no difference between the 2019 Bengals and the Curtis Painter Colts.
If this actually works out for the Fins, the media will be all over the Dolphins for killing football like Lars Ulrich discussing Napster.

As soon as they decided to make news a for-profit part of network programming, it all became about the advertising dollars, and today that also includes clicks, so it's all clickbaity bullshit sensationalism, and they're not really interested in actual investigative journalism anymore. Whatever brings in more money makes them happy, just like everything, which is why all is crumbling to shit.

While completely ignoring that the Patriots killed football first, of course. Which actually makes perfect sense.
Don't look now, but the Skins have thrown their hat into the tanking ring. They've suddenly declared that Haskins is starting the rest of the season, specifically so they can suck enough to draft his replacement at #1 or 2. Remember when people were actually talking about Haskins like he'd be good? BTW it was diabolically clever of them to have a bye the week that three other one-win teams got another victory.

Also, I have been banging the "media hates the Fins" drum for at least 15 years. Remember, before that Fins-Skins Super Bowl (the first one) SI predicted that the Skins would win EASILY. Can you imagine that level of disrespect for any other unbeaten team before any other title game? I'm convinced that hating the Fins because of '72 is literally a sports media tradition, passed down through the generations, and may even be a condition of employment.

Is there some history behind the Dolphins and the media that I don't know about. I was born during Marino era so I don't know much before hand. Maybe the Dolphins weren't suppose to be in Miami somewhere like Virginia or Alabama

Well, first of all Shula moving to the Fins from the Colts pissed off the NFL to no end. Then they were in the Super Bowl in '71, perfect season in '72, 12-2 and another SB in '73, and if it weren't for Joe Robbie being a cheap bastard and allowing Warfield, Csonka, and Jim Kiick go to the WFL (I think that's what it was called back then, believe they went to Memphis) the Fins likely would have been competing for all-time SB wins. So, then Shula goes and ends up with Marino, which further irritated many, and then goes on to become the winningest coach of all time, surpassing Papa Bear Halas, to which the old guard folks were not happy at all.
That's just my opinion, but it's also a lot of what I remember growing up.

Re: Miami Wins two games and no one talking about it
You forgot the part about the media painting this narrative that Shula was a title game choke artist (yes, they did that shit back then too) and losing their minds when he won a Super Bowl with an unbeaten team. So they were forced to abandon that preconceived notion and give Shula at least a modicum of respect. Through clenched teeth. And moving the goalposts every chance they got, such as making up an imaginary tournament of all-time great teams just to have the '72 Fins lose a computer simulated game. Also, apparently the '74 Super Bowl was the most boring ever because the Fins won it, and we're all just supposed to forget that the Steelers-Vikings one the very next year was WAY more of a snoozefest.
And who can forget the media accusing Shula of starting "Marino does coke" rumors that THEY began talking about DURING his senior season as part of a master plan to have 26 other teams pass on him. As if Shula had any control over that. I mean, literally all it would've taken was ONE TEAM to say screw the rumors, we're taking him anyway and then the evil genius mastermind rumormonger Shula would've been more screwed than a pornstar. Real evil geniuses (like Belichick) don't leave their plans up to that degree of random chance.

The Bengals should legit be investigated by the NFL and here's why.

Even the Fins didn't pull anything that blatant in the first four games. I'm hoping someone from the NFL pays Cincy the same visit they paid the Fins during the bye.

That Cover 0 against Pittsburgh and starting Rosen would be the only two "suspect" things they can say, other than the trades which ended up netting the Dolphins 2,200 picks and a bucket of McNuggets. The Bengals are just in full Curtis Painter-fail mode now, and it's obvious.

Not really Miami throw away a 2nd round pick for Rosen and they are going to use him. If would be weird if they didn't use him after that
