Miami versus Chargers predictions

a score befitting the early 70's.

Hard for me to imagine the Phins scoring less than 30 against a pretty weak Chargers defense. Tua should light them up, and I think we may see some good things in the running game with Breida and Washington.

Herbert is having a great season, but has shown zero ability to make up for the shortcomings of the rest of his team. He is much more mobile than he gets credit for, so that's something the Phins will have to watch. If the D can shut down the lackluster Chargers run game, I think the Phins will rack up a bunch of sacks and a few turnovers. Herbert hasn't seen anything like this Dolphins' defense before, and even if we are short-handed I think we'll confuse him and force mistakes. Keenan Allen is the best receiver that no one talks about - really an excellent player. And Mike Williams is a beast. But I think we can contain them with Howard and Jones, and Rowe will shut down Hunter Henry. Herbert will get his yards, but it won't lead to many points as the Miami bend-but-don't-break defense does their thing.

After the nailbiter last week, I think this game should be a bit easier:

Dolphins 37
Chargers 20

Herbert has been excellent but he's still a rookie.

Flores needs to come up with another plan similar to the Rams game, when the fronts and coverages totally confused Goff and resulted in several free rushers in his face all day.

Tua is only getting his 3rd start, and you can bet defenses are going to start taking things away they saw him do in the last two games. In short, it's too early to rely on our offense - defense needs to step up and shut down this high-flying offense.

They did okay against the Cards and I'd say Murray is better and more dynamic than Herbert. However, I'm looking for an effort closer to the Rams game. Don't let them light us up on the scoreboard!

Being west coast I get to watch west coast games. Chargers have a crappy record but have lost on the last play of the game the last 2 games. Herbert has been their bright spot. I expect a similar type shootout with this game being a 1 score game either way. 38-35 either way. A classic.

Great news this morning for the defense. Van Noy has been activated off the COVID 19 list and will be available to play tomorrow. Callaway was also activated to the 53. I’m excited to seem him in action. I’m hoping he and grant dominate the middle of the field with those crossers.

Keenan Allen is the only receiver he’s got. 62 - 691 - 4TDS. The next guy Mike Williams has 33. I say put X on Allen and take some more PI’s. Frustrate him to the point where he gets disinterested. Like he did to Hopkins. Most of this PI’s last week were BS but you could tell Hopkins was a little frustrated. Stop Allen and we win the game
