The QB situation is still muddy.
Bridgewater has a dislocated finger - not a broken finger. So if the swelling goes down and he can grip the ball, he likely starts vs. the Jets - with Thompson as the #2.
But if Bridgewater can't go, then Thompson is the starter and Glennon is the #2.
What a mess!!

Are you kidding me? Glennon is probably the worst backup in the history of QBs. I HS QB or retired college QB would be better than him.

Unfortunately, that just shows how weak the QB position is in the NFL. You're just not going to find anyone better than Glennon on the street. Let's just pray he never has to play!

I've seen his last few games as a Giant. This guy makes Teddy Trash and Jacoby Tin Man look like HOFers.
When he releases a pass it can do anything from hit his OL in the back or sail to the first row. If he needs to run he looks like Forrest Gump with the braces.

I think it’s going to be Skylar. Teddy can’t practice. Better to bring him in off the bench if it’s getting ugly and give Skykar full starting reps to get him ready

I agree 1000%. Unfortunately, in week 18 that's the best you can get. The one thing Glennon has going for him is experience, and I think that's what the Phins were really looking for as a last-ditch option. If God forbid he has to come off the bench, at least he's done it before and has seen pretty much everything an NFL QB will face. That doesn't mean he'll produce, but at least the situation won't be too big for him from a mental standpoint.

Ultimately, you are probably right - but I think if the swelling goes down on Teddy's finger and he is able to throw, he starts. He gives us the best chance to win, even with Skylar getting the first team reps. We should know more after today's practice.

Joe Schad at the Palm Beach Post is still reporting that it is indeed broken (as originally indicated to PFT by sources close to Teddy).
Tagovailoa is concussed and Bridgewater has a broken pinkie finger.

word is the Phins are claiming its only dislocated in hopes of putting out the idea (subterfuge) that Bridgewater might get better forcing the Jets to have to prepare for him. but either way, i don't think it matters cause from the same article...
Teddy Bridgewater can't throw a football beyond a few yards
also reported by the Herald.
He was able to throw passes only a few yards, to a team staffer.

so i guess barring a miracle, it'll be Skylar.

you're absolutely right. if you're rummaging through the QB trash heap in week 18, that is what you are gonna find - trash. but at this point, its not about physical ability, its about finding someone - anyone - who can successfully communicate a playcall in the huddle without spitting up all over himself.

So Skylar it is. Time for him to get back to the form he showed in preseason. I think, as usual, the OL will be key. Need to give him time to throw.
I wanted to say that we need to establish the run because that is the weakness of the Jets' D - but my guess is the Jets will sell out against the run, at least early, daring Skylar to beat them. Maybe some playaction to start the game?
