Thoughts on game 14: Phins at Chargers

Sorry guys...this post sucks, but I just don't have it in me to say anything more...
Beer: Saranac West End Winter IPA (perfect combination of a winter ale and an IPA)
Hero of the Day: none
Goat of the Day: Dallas Fucking Thomas
This is getting old. Tannehill sucked, the entire offense sucked, the defense was pathetic. I guess the punter and return coverage teams were good, but that’s about it.
What a pitiful performance, getting blown out by a 3-win team in front of a crowd that seemed to have more Dolphins fans than Chargers fans.
I’m so done with Ryan Tannehill. He just looks lost out there. Everything around him is crap, but let;s face it – he’s just not very good. Facing one of the worst defenses in football, he couldn’t even lead his team to 100 yards in the first half. Just embarrassing.
I just cannot tolerate seeing Dallas Thomas on the field anymore. In my best Simpsons’ Comic Book Guy Voice: “Worst. Player. Ever.” To say that this guy sucks is an insult to the word “sucks”. I’m not sure a word even exists to describe just how godawful this piece of crap is. Yet for some reason, the Dolphins continue to play him week after week. He literally gets pushed back on every single pass play, that is when he’s not getting penalized or just letting his man run around him. Maybe the coaches want Tannehill to get hurt, or maybe Thomas has photos of owner Steven Ross fucking a Shetland pony. I don’t know…there’s got to be some reason why this guy is on the team – he is just horrifically terrible.
This is the worst Dolphins team I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching. I long for the days of Cam Cameron, when the team at least showed some heart and played hard. This current team has no individual players to root for, there’s nothing interesting happening, there’s no hope of getting better…it’s just a complete disaster.
I really don’t have the desire to say anything else. It’s just so damn hard to be a fan of this team. And with Tannenbaum running the show, I have no faith that things will get better anytime soon.

The ONLY good things about this day are Umix returning from the dead to post again and at least you're still posting the Game Thoughts.
I honestly cannot see how this franchise can afford for Hennehill to be the starting QB next season. I also honestly believe this O-line is the worst in NFL history. Seriously.
Would I get banned again if I brought up making this an anti-Fins site, where we just endlessly mock their frequent flops, foibles and fiascoes? It's got to be better than being angry at them all the time, right?

Most of this team is just collecting game checks now. There's nothing to be learned at all from today or the remainder of the season. So, we bid Dan Campbell goodbye. I hope when he is accepting his Super Bowl champion rings elsewhere he remembers Stephen Ross accidentally giving him an opportunity.
What I saw today was a team filled with loser players. We cannot win with the vast majority of these guys. I'd keep maybe 4 of them. Seriously.

What makes you think Campbell will ever get any rings? He somehow managed to be worse than Philbin, after getting the team to actually play hard for a whopping six whole quarters. Now I'm convinced Campbell is no better than the Wannys and Cams of the world.

BTW beating the Ravens was an EXTREMELY stupid thing to do. They've already got a better team (when everyone's healthy) and they're actually going to be drafting ahead of the Fins now Winning that game was almost as dumb as refusing to suck for Luck.

Three things that seem to happen in every Dolphins game this season:
1. Dallas Thomas gets completely blown up by a defender (actually, that happens multiple times every game)
2. Suh gets at least one offsides penalty
3. Vernon gets flagged for a late hit on the QB or hitting the QB low. Dude is a dirty player - no question about it anymore.

Now that I'm sober and not as pissed off, here are a few more thoughts about yesterday's atrocity:
-- Please, please, please stop playing Bobby McCain on the outside - he cannot play there. Move him inside, before you ruin him.
-- Tony Lippett has godawful technique, as expected for a player new to the position. He needs to be on the practice squad. Learning bad habits in actual games isn't helping him.
-- At one point, the Dolphins OL consisted of Ulrick John at LT, Dallas Thomas at LG, Jamil Douglas at C, Billy Turner at RG, Jason Fox at RT. Wow. No words needed...
-- Why does Damien Williams continue to return kicks, and even more importantly, why the hell was Reshad Jones returning kicks yesterday too???
-- Is Andrew Franks a good kicker? I have no idea...just 11 FG attempts on the season. This offense is so bad, we can't even get into FG range!
-- Parker had a couple of nice catches, but once again failed to win a contested pass. It's becoming a disturbing trend...that was supposed to be a strength of his.

How in the hell do you not use lamar miller? 12 touches? seriously? undervalued and under utilized with the same stats he's maintained the last two years. WTF?WTF?WTF?WTF?

I love how we play press and the corner gets beat...and the safeties are literally nowhere to be found. It's the strangest defense I've ever seen...seems like the goal is for players to be caught out of position on every play.

You know what happens next. He signs with another team (probably in the division) and proceeds to take out Hennehill for the season.
