We need one of those teams to win for the Fins to move into the top 5. And this season DESERVES a top 5 draft spot, dammit!!!

Taking Lynch would require the Dolphins to rethink the way they do things from the Past. But tannebaum did trade up for Sanchez while he was with the Jets, So there is Hope.

Do you think Lynch is good or are his receivers and scheme he's in creating the illusion of being good? I've only watched the 7 td first half game. His receivers were ten yards in the open or they had great YAC to get into the end zone.

The Phins aren't taking a QB early, IMO. More likely mid-late rounds, IMO. I do think (or, at least, hope) a veteran will be added to replace Moore.

Lynch seems to have the "it" factor and he looks like a natural leader. But the NFL is a HUGE step up from Memphis, so I just wonder how long it will take him to adjust. The NFL certainly wasn't too big for Flacco out of Delaware, but he was a rare case. Fortunately, if the Phins did take Lynch, he'd have at least a year to sit.

Roethlisberger was small school also.

That's actually the worst game for you to watch for Lynch scouting. SMU was flat out tanking to a degree that would make even the Fins ashamed.

I've always felt that if someone's good enough to do the job then nothing else matters, not experience, not where they went to college, not how old they are, nothing. And I am telling you right here and now that Lynch is better than Tannehill RIGHT NOW. And he wouldn't even necessarily have a year to sit, Tannehill is going to get injured sooner than later. I'm hearing he might not actually play VS the Pats.

And so was that Tony Romo guy. B-Roth is actually the QB who Lynch reminds me of the most. Similar size and Lynch can move. He's basically a bigger, clutcher version of Tannehill. You guys know me well enough to realize I'm no Memphis homer fanboi. There have only been three players in the last decade out of Memphis who I've been excited about in terms of the NFL and that's DeAngelo, Gostkowski, and now Lynch. I didn't believe all three were NFL ready, I KNEW.

I'm determined to hold on to this dream until it's no longer possible. Plus, the front orifice has already let slip they're interested in Lynch. They can't take it back now. You might think this team has far too many problems to be drafting a QB with their first pick and you'd be right. But in a way that actually makes it an even better idea. If no single player taken with the 5th or 6th pick or whatever can turn this team around next season then why NOT go ahead and draft that future franchise QB? Who's going to be available at QB in the 2017 draft that's any better? You take the QB now and build the rest of the team around him because that's actually easier than doing it the other way.

BTW before Lynch Memphis was at an all-time low in their football history (and trust me, that's a HUGE statement). He'll be leaving a team that made national waves and had their highest ranking ever by far while also setting a record for most wins in a season. So Lynch knows how to turn around a hopeless situation. Or at least be a part of it.

BUT...getting back to the subject I think the Cowboys honestly have a great chance at winning since they still seem to somehow be playing hard, have already made the Skins their only Romo-less victim, and the Skins now have nothing to play for. The Chargers have a chance as well because Denver is all D and no O these days. The Niners have no shot, but we can't expect all three to win Just one of the three is all we really can ask for, and two of the three would be beyond huge and a sign that most of us are living right

Joe Flacco, Kurt Warner and Steve McNair were also small school guys. Smaller schools than Memphis in all three cases, in fact (Flacco was originally at Pitt, but that QB guru Dave Wannstedt decided Palko was better).

I like Lynch a lot. Goff too. Brandon Doughty as a sleeper.

This should be the philosophy of every NFL GM. Especially now with rookie salaries being so much more managable. If there's a potential franchise QB available, you take him...it trumps everything else.

Personally, I'd jump on Lynch if he's there when the Phins pick.

Totally agree with one caveat.

Yes, we will probably have to trade up to get Lynch. I think we will be in a position where that move does not cust us all that much. Especially if the franchise believes Lynch can be a franchise caliber QB. You make that move every time.

There are instances where trading down and getting more picks makes sense. If we had our QB, I would advocate making that move this year. However, as DF stated, our draft record has been terrible. That must change. No amount of maneuvering, free agent signing, roster development and scheming can overcome the problems that will plague a team that cannot draft well.

Parcells said it exactly right, unfortunately he's a great head coach and not a front office executive that can build an organization. The NFL is a talent acquisition business. The best teams draft well and use free agency sparingly, if at all. Cincinnati looks to be a great example. They let their high price guys go regularly, yet have a recent track record of at least reaching the playoffs. It looks to me like what they are doing is working to an extent, it's a matter of time before they break through and start winning playoff games. Some of us here have preached "patience", in that example I think patience is warranted.

Looks like another wish of mine came true Lynch was literally as horrible as he could possibly have been. So bad that he might actually now stay But let's hope this leaves such a bad taste in scouts' mouths that he falls to the Fins' pick

I caught a little of that game and was looking for him to lmoress. The very small sample size was not good. How bout Dak Prescott of Miss. St.? Could he be a prospect to push hennehill?

He sure performed a lot better in his bowl game than Lynch did.

I realize the coach basically stabbed them in the back by all but accepting a new job mid-season, but Memphis flat out embarrassed themselves the last 5 games, with the bowl game being the topper. They literally might as well not have even showed up, it was obvious none of them wanted to be there. If I'm a scout I'm looking into this with Lynch big-time. This team cannot afford to take a QB that high who checks out when the going gets rough. because it'll be rough for at least the next 2 seasons, and that's if Ross finally gets a clue.

I will say this: IF Lynch isn't available when the Fins pick, then they should probably trade down (but not too far) because then it would make sense.

I still have absolutely no idea how good the QB class will be after this one though.
