first pre season game
I know there is a lot of boycotting going on with the situation with Kaepernick but NFL is really the only thing I watch on tv besides the world cup. but I really want to see what Cutler going to do is he going to be the INT machine or the savior of miami

From what I've read, Cutler isn't playing tomorrow.
It MIGHT be on TV here in Atlanta... if so I will try and post some updates

Yup. Was about to post the same thing about Cutler.
I'll still watch preseason (Fins only) just to see if there's any actual player development going on but no regular season for me still. If anything I'm even less enamored with the NFL than I was before.

I think the plan was for McMillan to be the starting MLB. Three starters down already, and we're still a month away from the season. Ugh. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

Looks like Alonso is back to MLB.

Sucks on McMillan, IMO we will see Hull slide in at MLB. But who knows.
Was looking for a few more highlights, the only notable play I saw was a nice TD catch from Carroo. He did a nice job tracking a poorly thrown Doughty pass, adjusted and made the catch.
We also didn't dress 11 players last night - including Tunsil and James at OT. At the rate of injury we are seeing that's probably a wise move.
So far we have lost starters at QB, LG, MLB. Ajayi is in the concussion protocol. Nate Allen is nursing a groin injury. Guard and linebacker were thin to begin with - those ones hurt.
Gase has his work cut out for him this season.

If so, then any hope of improvement on this D are gone IMO. I don't like Hull all that much, but I'd put him at MLB before Alonso.
Re: first pre season game
Apparently Godchaux did impress the staff, I saw a glimpse of him a couple times, but the drawback to this one was that I was watching on ATL local station. So, the entire game was called by Falcons announcers.
They barely gave the name of any Dolphins player on the field, even if they made a tackle or catch. In fact, I wouldn't have known what happened to McMillan if I wasn't following Twitter also.
So in any case, my pet "Godchaux wins job over Phillips" hope is becoming more and more a reality.

And once again the Pats win the division before the season begins.
It's really easy to succeed when your so-called competition keeps failing.
Meh.

Just get the damn surgery now, Raekwon!!! Don't dick around with that stem cell stuff.
SO...he hurt it covering a punt?!?! Seriously?!?! You've got a starting LB fucking COVERING PUNTS in preseason?!?!
(Facepalms.)

Yeah. Apparently the "Jason Sehorn Injury" is now long forgotten, and teams have learned nothing from it.
I also read the injury happened when he collided with his own team mate - Deon Lacey.

Apparently Godchaux moves guards off the line and into the backfield. He plays mean.

Sign me up. Hard to tell that was him on the film replay, but apparently he was responsible for the stuffed run to force 4th and 1 against the Falcons starters.
Great to see him refuse to be moved and make the tackle.

Godcheaux is going to literally be the only good news about this team all season, isn't he?
And from what I heard he has character issues so I expect him to get arrested at some point.

If you can't find 11 guys on the roster to play special teams in the first preseason game without having to put a starting LB there, then WTF are they doing on the roster? You might as well have just cut them all beforehand. I always thought preseason was for getting those fringe guys on the field and seeing if any of them were worth keeping but I guess it's just me.

Not just you. And if Gase is so smart I hope he learned something.

Re: first pre season game
In five years I don't think special teams will even be a thing anymore TBH. Things certainly are trending that way.

Re: first pre season game
I think McMillan was going to be a core special teamer, and probably wouldn't have been a 3-down LB - so it makes sense for him to be on specials, even in the first preseason game. I have no problem with it - injuries happen.

Godchaux has cinder blocks for hands. Dude is the real deal. Steal.

Re: first pre season game
I've watched the first 2 1/2 quarters and am feeling pretty unimpressed. The run D still looks bad and the offense and STs were mostly unwatchable. In fairness, there really weren't any offensive starters playing other than Bushrod, but the depth still looks weak. The D overall still seems very slow...it was comical watching them try to keep up with the Atlanta backs.
On the positive side, I thought Deon Lacey looked like a keeper at LB, and Charles Harris showed some good moves rushing the passer.
Really not much to take from game one, but it seems like Gase and his staff have a long, tough road leading up to September 10.
