Beating the Pats/Draft
To win the AFC East Miami must be able to beat the Pats. Do we draft in general terms or in specific terms of beating our rival?
If we are looking to win our division then we need to draft a non prototype QB. Pats are not able to beat these guys.

Miami needs to draft not to only beat the Pats but to also beat teams like 49ers, Ravens, Seahawks, and other teams that are better than them. Miami draft is more about can Flores develop players to be great for the long run.

You can't focus on the Pats specifically because IMO they change too much. Brady probably won't be playing by the time we are gearing up for a playoff run.
Just build the team smart: Trenches first and inside/out. Of course, we need a franchise QB but a lot of teams do.
We may have gotten very lucky with Tua. With the injury, his value took a hit but I would draft him in a heartbeat. Especially if we fall to the 5-10 pick range with more wins...

We must play to beat our own division first. That has traditionally been the Pats for 15 years. Now Buffalo is on the rise.

Agree on all counts.
I think the focus has to be on building a team that can compete with anyone - not just the Patriots. As long as Flores continues to build a culture that focuses on toughness, accountability, intelligence and fundamentals, and Grier brings in legit talent, we'll be in great shape in the division and beyond.
