Panthers fire Frank Reich
The Panthers fired head coach Frank Reich after less than one season. I guess a 1-10 start will do that! Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor is now the interim head coach.
Not really sure what the Panthers expected from the team this season, and also not sure how firing Reich now helps anything. Seems like a knee-jerk reaction to me, after the owner was visibly frustrated yesterday and reportedly left the locker room shaking his head and saying "Fuck!" What a mess!

Interesting that Reich wanted Stroud over Young!

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Panthers have fired HC Frank Reich.
Heading into Week 11, FOX’s Jay Glazer reported Reich was on the “hottest seat in the league.” A Week 12 loss to the Titans was likely the boiling point for the front office and owner David Tepper, who was reportedly heard shouting expletives while leaving the locker room. We may not ever fully know who was responsible for the disaster that has unfolded in Carolina this season, but No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young’s struggles have been well documented and amplified by the fact that No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud has thrived early with the Texans. Rumors are Stroud was the preferred pick over Young by Reich and the staff, but the selection of Young came directly from Tepper. Still, Carolina’s issues extend beyond their rookie quarterback. The Panthers are among the worst pass-blocking units in the league and boast a defense that’s allowing the third-most points per game (26.5). Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor is expected to take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season, with the Panthers expected to make a run at Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson in the offseason. A premium head coaching candidate could be tough to come by with the Panthers not having a first round pick in 2024, and Tepper now moving on to his third head coach in four seasons.

Remember, Tepper is only the Panthers' owner because Jerry Richardson got cancelled for being an "ist". But this bit on Wikipedia is hilarious. Apparently just before he was forced out, too.

As Panthers majority owner, Richardson was said to be a "champion of diversity", with African-American Cam Newton as starting quarterback and Hispanic Ron Rivera as head coach.
This BTW is a cautionary tale for everybody wanting Ross out. Sure you might get someone like the Pegulas in Buffalo, but you also might get David Tepper or even worse, the NFL's first black trans owner

Re: Panthers fire Frank Reich
sounds like a perfect job for an upcoming defensive coordinator with past HC experience developing a young QB - and a history of fighting for racial diversity.
good luck Carolina with Brian Flores.

Nah, I think Flores gets the gig in New England after Bill finally steps down.

Having Flores take over just in time to ruin Caleb Williams would be absolutely delicious I must admit
Not sure why teams never learn that if you're going to draft a top 5 QB you do NOT want to have a defensive oriented coach in charge at that time. But it's been decades now and they refuse to.
