Dolphins pick up 5th year options for Phillips and Waddle

The Miami Dolphins will exercise the fifth-year options on the rookie contracts of wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and pass rusher Jaelan Phillips, general manager Chris Grier told reporters Tuesday.

The fifth-year options, which will keep both players under contract for the 2025 season, are set to pay Waddle about $15.6 million and Phillips about $13.25 million.

No brainer for each of them.
Also I think an important step in negotiations. "Well here is what you make in 2025, but under a NEW DEAL you get this much guaranteed and this is the new money amount."
Both figures are bargain basement prices for a season given what they bring to the team.
