Power back
I predict Ajayi is out of the NFL in 3 years. Miami will be looking for another power back. How do you draft a player with bone on bone knee problems? Add in the fumbling issues against lower level NCAA teams and this has disaster written all over it.

Re: Power back
Yeah, it's hard to imagine Ajayi having a long career. It's a shame, because he is a good player. But a running back with bone-on-bone knee condition is an injury waiting to happen. He didn't miss any significant time in college, but the NFL is a whole different animal.
I'm hoping Ajayi could become a force as a goal-line runner and third-down receiver (although he is a poor pass blocker, making his use on third downs questionable). But, we'll see if his knee can handle NFL hits for long.

Re: Power back
Parcells had two things that he always stayed away from while drafting players. Fumbling problems and injuries.

For a 5th round pick I'd be happy with two solid years.

Re: Power back
Just remember guys, the Fins' medical staff said he was perfectly fine when Ajayi failed almost literally every other team's physical.
Three years? I don't even give him three games. IMO it's a 60/40 chance of him even making it to the regular season. I wouldn't be shocked at all if Ajayi retired before the season started. You read it here first.

Re: Power back
so i take it you guys don't agree with Dave Hyde's assessment?

Re: Power back
I can't read the article because Sun Sentinel wants me to login or pay.
Anyway, it's absolutely absurd to say that Ajayi is better than Miller right now. Ajayi hasn't even set foot on an NFL field yet. Miller is coming off a 1000 yard season with 9 total TDs. Maybe some day Ajayi will be better, but that day is not today.

Re: Power back
I read where a doctor said he could play 9 years or 9 games. I like the gamble. So it's impossible to put cartilage back in a knee? I swear I read about someone getting baboon cartilage or something weird like that.

Pure desperate homerism at its finest.
Ajayi is the kind of pick we'd be mocking if the Pats, Jets or Bills had made it.
Again, who ya gonna trust, this team's medical staff or everybody else?

Re: Power back
Ajayi appears to be a good get. The talent we need at a bargain price. Who cares how long he plays? He was a 5th round pick. One season of top level play is worth that IMO.

Re: Power back
I'll put it this way: if it is a choice between gambling on Ajayi or putting Daniel Thomas back out there again in 2015, let's roll the dice.

Okay okay, you convinced me now that you put it that way
I'm still just hoping Ajayi even makes it to the preseason though, let alone regular season.
At least he doesn't appear to be another Cecil Collins, that's a good thing right?

Well, Ajayi was arrested in 2011...for stealing sweatpants from Walmart, of all things. Certainly nothing like Cecil Collins...but sweatpants from Walmart??? Really???

5 dollar sweatpants is hard to come by now a days while you in college.
But I think Ajayi is the perfect backup to Miller. If he didn't have the knee issue then he would not have been available to Miami in the 5th round.

I saw a "way too early 2016 draft" that had us taking Ezekiel Elliot in round one next year. Yeah I liked that one.

Actually, I think that was Najeh Davenport. One of the strangest stories I've ever heard about a professional athlete!

Yep, definitely. He looks like a stud running back.
Re: Power back
Not seeing Miami making it to the Superbowl this year but definitely seeing Miami making the playoffs. Let just hope they just don't make the playoffs.

Playoffs?
I wish I shared the optimism. Collins would help.

Re: Power back
Ayaji was a good pick! Turner and Dallas Thomas were horrible! And both were totally healthy coming out. His only question was his knee! Ok I get it but he could play and considering we're we got him we basically stole him! IMHO we got him here to split time not be the tell all back. I'm fine with him and I'm fine without him but if he improves this team why not wait and see?
