Can Miami do it again (rightchea Jets preview)
We back at it again and Miami will be facing their old friend Adam "never change" Gase. Fitzmagic showed his magic last Sunday when he threw for 365 yards and 3 TD. Miami offense seems to be clicking even with the horrible OL that they have. Miami defense has seen better days and let's hope they can find it against the Jets. Let us see what Miami has to do to win...
Put pressure on Sam Darnold:
Let's be honest, Sam Darnold is a Tannehill when it comes to game management. When he is on, he is on but when he is off the game is over and the Jets loss. Sam Darnold is going to be the X factor in this game. Not Anderson nor Bell but Darnold. Miami will have to get as much pressure on Sam Darnold as they possibly can. Sam Darnold was sack 4 times against the Bengals and their DL is worse than Miami statistically. I would be surprised if Gase comes up with some trick plays but never count that idiot out. The secondary will have to play their part in causing pressure with Sam Darnold as well. Great coverage and not leaving players open will cause chaos to Darnold. Miami has done this before causing 1 INT and 3 sacks and 9 QB hits. Per pickingPros.com the Jets are ranked 30th in passing and since Gase doesn't like to make changes in his game plan, there is a possibility that it can get even lower. And let's be honest it gonna be no difference for Miami going to NY since the stadium is full of opponent's fans when they play in Miami, so home-field advantage will only come from the refs, which would be considered cheating.
Contain Bell:
Running the ball is not a strong suit for the Jets. They are ranked 31st in the league this year in rushing yards but that doesn't mean that Miami is any better at stopping the run. Miami is ranked 27th (when did this happen) when it comes to stopping the run (thought it was much worse than that). Miami DL needs to (toxic masculinity voice) toughen up and not get pushed around like some little girls. Miami DL need to stop giving up so many yards and close the holes, the LB needs to stop stepping into the wrong gaps and start making the right decision when it comes to what holes to fill. Yeah, Bell and Powell only equal to 714 yards but as a team, they have 871 which still isn't much but when they played Miami they recorded 82 yards. Okay, this section isn't the best but still, Miami needs to make sure they keep it in check. Miami will have to expect reverse plays to the WR and delayed handoff, which is about as tricky as Gase get most of the time.
Miami Offense must improve altogether:
So Miami dolphins running game is non-existent this year. per PickingPros.com Miami is the worst in the league when it comes to running the ball. Miami cannot rely on Fitzmagic because teams will start developing ways of making it hard for him to throw the ball, this is where Laird and Gaskin will have to step up. Ballage is out probably for the next couple of games which isn't much since he was doing nothing in the first place, but he did at least try to make something happen. This is also where Miami's OL will have to step up as well creating holes that are big enough for the RB to get through or gaps in the cut back lane. In a couple of games that both Laird and Gaskin have started they both combined for 66 yards per carry and 1 TD which avg 6.6 yards when they touch the ball (Gaskin with 4.3 and Laird with 2.3) which is more than Ballage (1.8 yards per carry). Miami OL has to do better as well when it comes to protecting Fitzmagic. The Jets are first in yards allowed (63%) this year so far in passing and an average of 3.2 per carry. This means Miami OL has to make sure they are protecting Fitzmagic and doing what they need to do to make sure that Miami WR and RB can get open when necessary. Parker and Gesicki both had big games last Sunday that brought Miami out of a 14 point deficit to come back and win but Miami can't be down when it comes to the Jets. Miami needs to be 3 points or 30 points ahead, it doesn't matter as long Miami is scoring.
Don't as for help from the refs:
We have been seeing it all season from horrible holding calls when Fitz ran for a huge gain, Fitzmagic getting taken out of the game for concussion protocol that happened 12 plays ago to a pass interference that was never called which allowed the Eagles to score. The Refs are horrible and if they are anything like the NYPD then don't expect any type of help from them just more harassment. Miami will have to play their game and make sure they make Gase play whatever game he thinks he is playing.
Injury update: Jamal Adams might be out for this game as well. Added bonus (sprained ankle)
All in all:
Miami has a real chance of winning this and going 4-9 for the season. Funny enough Miami has probably two more games they could win going 6-10 for the season. Not sure if this is called winning but when your team doesn't have the most talented of players going 6-10 is a win.

Re: Can Miami do it again (rightchea Jets preview)
Great write-up!
I think if we stop the run and make Darnold and the Jet offense one-dimensional, we win. It should be a low-scoring game. I expect a break-out game from Laird in the passing game, and look for Parker to have another big game.
I could easily see the Jets winning, but I'm going 24-13 Dolphins!

Sounds like Jamal Adams and Lev Bell could both miss Sunday's game. If both of those guys are out, that greatly improves Miami's chances of winning.
Re: Can Miami do it again (rightchea Jets preview)
Bell is listed as out. Powell is still a good RB thought so you still have to watch out for him.

Not when the NFL reverses a penalty at the end of a game

You must have been freezing your ass off in the stadium! How was the crowd??
Too bad we couldn't get just one damn TD...

The NFL refusing to reverse PI non-calls has been a huge story this season, to the point where the sports media thinks it's a joke. So of COURSE they decide it's a penalty when the Fins are about to win. SMH.
I GUARANTEE if a Pats player did the exact same thing in the exact same situation it wouldn't even be reviewed at all, let alone reversed.
Meh.

It was cold but not Jersey brutal. Decent sized Fin's crowd but not a 60/40 split like the old days. People seemed nicer to each other compared to years ago. It's sucks we lost but it was still great going out seeing the team play up here.

But the real question is, did JEGnj almost get in a fight this time?

NOPE I was with great Jet's fans and on my best behavior. The whole area is season ticket holders where even the usher knows everyone.
