Well, I guess he'll get cut then because no team is trading for him.

Davis is good on special teams, but he should never play defense. Good ball skills, and nothing else.

I guess this means Lippett will make the team, which I think is a mistake. He's slow and looks clueless at corner. Good size and ball skills, but strictly a developmental project. I would put him on the practice squad...wouldn't waste a spot on the 53 on him.

perhaps, but i am still not convinced Lippett makes the final 53. i have a feeling the final DB to make the squad isn't even on the roster right now. i think they'll churn the bottom of the roster with a few waiver wire pickups.

I hope you're right. We are extremely thin at CB, and if we can pick up a veteran that can help it would be much better than stashing a rookie that looks to be years away from contributing (if ever).

I don't know...that doesn't sound like a fair trade. Shit paper is pretty damn valuable when you need it...  cyclops

I heard Davis had two INTs tonight Shocked Shocked and basically played completely unlike he ever has before in his life. Maybe Philbin should tell him he's on the trading block all the way until October. Seriously. Different players are motivated in different ways, sometimes when you least expect it.

Maybe he changed the minds for some CB-needy team, and we'll get a late conditional pick or something.

Davis made this a difficult decision but along with his two interceptions he gave up three intermediate completions, thus showing the inconsistency we've seen from Davis for some time.

Yeah, I didn't get to see the game yet, but what I heard is that Davis looked pretty bad other than the 2 INTs.

The INTs aren't a surprise at all - he's had excellent ball skills since day one. The problem is, he really can't cover anyone beyond 10 yards or so, and he's got terrible technique. Like I've been saying, he is great on STs and I'd keep him over Lippett, but really I don't ever want to see him playing defense.
