While I realize many are assuming Flores’ departure is tied to Harbaugh’s potential availability, I can assure you that is not the case. The Dolphins are not targeting Jim Harbaugh, per sources. The decision to fire Flores is entirely independent.

I don't think giving head coaches personnel control is the right move in the majority of cases.

But the Brian Flores firing is a great example why coaches ask for it.

Poor guy was dying for his team to take Herbert over Tua. But it wasn't his decision.

Now, unemployed.

The decision to fire Flores can be summed up with one word: Relationships. His relationship with Grier and Tua had deteriorated to a pretty bad place. Along with constant staff changes, owner Steve Ross no longer saw Flores as a healthy fit in Miami.

Flores did a fine job righting the ship this year, was just a little too late in doing so.  

I'm opposed to firing him now; I would have given him one more year.  If it isn't to bring in Harbaugh, then this must have been a falling out between Grier and Flores, makes no sense otherwise.

Grier sure needed the 2021 draft homerun, that much is certain.

Not liking this at all and liking it even less if it means getting rid of all our 2022 and 2023 draft picks to bring in Watson and let him get sacked 70 times next year because the line still sucks.

" After evaluating where we are as an organization and what we need going forward to improve, I determined that key dynamics of our football organization weren't functioning at a level I want it to be and felt that this decision was in the best interest of the Miami Dolphins.
