Dolphins sign Mohamed Sanu

i'm not sure why? i guess because he's been with McDaniel for the last few seasons maybe he can help the young guys learn the playbook. but i just don't see space for him on the active regular season roster.

Sanu played for Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel with the 49ers over the last couple of seasons. He had 16 catches for 186 yards in 11 games.

doesn't seem like he contributed much last year.

Possible camp depth. Long shot to make the roster IMO.

Unless Williams AND Bowden are really not cutting it this offseason....

I wanted him 10 years ago out of Rutgers. Not sure of the need now.

Yep, that's exactly why he's a Dolphin IMO. Sanu doesn't offer much at this stage, but he is a smart player and could be invaluable in getting the younger players up to speed in this system. He's also a top-shelf blocker, and can hopefully show the current receivers how it's done. Great signing from that perspective. He almost certainly won't make the team, but I'll bet he stays on the Dolphins' radar if we get WR injuries in-season.
