Barry Jackson is reporting that Fangio spoke with AVG and convinced him to return to Miami! Love it!

Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
The Jets are working to sign Titans center Ben Jones. He was a really solid player for a long time, but is coming off a season where he missed 5 games due to two concussions, and was supposedly thinking of retiring. Good move if he's able to play.
Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
Love resigning AVG. With him and Malik Reed two young solid depth players. If we suffer injury to Chubb or Phillips a drop off but not severe. Outstanding work by Grier and Fangio.

Yep, great way to look at it. It will also help Chubb and Phillips stay fresh. And I bet Fangio can come up with some creative packages that get all 4 on the field together.

Does that dude really own all those jerseys? Impressive!
My two favorites:
Titans - "Just let me know if we're trading Derrick Henry so I can get the whiskey ready."
Ravens - "What is going on with Lamar???"

Wow, big trade for the Jets:
Browns trade a 2nd rounder to the Jets for WR Elijah Moore and a 3rd rounder.
Great move for the Jets...getting that extra 2nd is huge and could help them get Rodgers. I think Moore is mediocre at best...the Browns overpaid.

Raiders signed TE Austin Hooper.
Jaguars signed RB D'Ernest Johnson, who had some big games for the Browns.
Texans signed LB Denzel Perryman.
Patriots re-signed CB Jalen Mills.

Didn't the Chiefs drafty Sky Moore last year?
So they had Hardman's replacement ready to go and let Hardman walk.
It's so nice when you are able to draft cheap players and let the big money free agents walk.
Especially when you have to pay a QB a bUttLOad of money.
Three words from above that concern me with the Phins... Able to Draft.

Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
Foster Moreau announced he has been diagnosed Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and will be stepping away from football.
Moreau took to Twitter to make the announcement, adding that the cancer was found "during a routine physical conducted by the Saint’s medical team down in New Orleans." He expressed gratitude for the support he has received and ended his message by saying, "I’ll go kick this thing’s ass and get back to doing what I love!" It's a deeply sad revelation for a player who was likely going to work his way into a starting role on a new team this year. We all look forward to seeing Moreau's return to football, whenever that may be.
Crazy. Thank God he was a free agent and took a physical to get diagnosed.

The Jets are apparently trying to sign Odell Beckham. Another desperation move IMO. Odell has been mediocre since 2016...when he's actually been healthy enough to play.
Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
Jets looking at Zeke Elliott, Bills and Pats looking into trading for Deandre Hopkins.
Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
There's a run on wide receivers today:
WR Nelson Agholor signs with the Ravens.
WR DJ Chark signs with the Panthers.
WR Marquez Callaway signs with the Broncos.
WR Marquise Goodwin signs with the Browns.
WR Steven Sims signs with the Texans.
And in non-WR news, safety Terrell Edmunds is going to the Eagles.

The Raiders signed former Phins DT John Jenkins.
The Phins re-signed DB/special teams ace Justin Bethel.

Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
OL Matt Feiler just signed with the Bucs. I guess the Phins weren't interested, but he's the FA OL I wanted them to sign.
Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
WR Chosen (formerly Robby) Anderson signing with the 'Fins. Had a great year in 2020, not much last year with ARZ or CAR. Offers a taller option in the red zone at 6'2".

Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
This signing out of left field is baffling, befuddling and bewildering to me, and I just cannot see how it helps this team in any way, shape or form. Grier just can't help himself, he always seems to feel he has to show the world he's doing *something*. "Hey look everybody, I'm GMing! Can you see all the trades and signings I'm making? Look at me!"
We're talking about a soon to be 30-year old head case (Chosen??? Seriously???) who got into a sideline argument with a coach last season and got the boot because of it. Why waste cap space like that? Why not just keep Sherfield? Just...why???
Prediction: Anderson gets arrested before September. You saw it here first.
EDIT: The more I think about it the more I absolutely DESPISE this signing. It's the epitome of everything that's been wrong with this team and its decision making process this century. HOW can I have ANY confidence in this team going forward with idiotic, imbecilic moves like THIS?!?!

Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
I don't like the Anderson signing either. He's a one-dimensional player who offers nothing but straight-line speed. He's also a locker room/sideline cancer.
The good news is, with his contract he's not even a lock to make the team - so no real reason to worry about him now, because I'm not convinced he'll be around come September.

exactly my take. this is an insurance signing in the event the Phins have the opportunity to trade Cedric Wilson during the draft. otherwise, he very likely won't even make the team if Wilson is still around.

Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
Wilson damn well better be traded to justify this. And even THEN it was a completely unnecessary move to sign THIS guy. What, Grier couldn't sign someone whose literal NAME didn't scream "I'm a world-class narcissist attempting to still play a team sport even though I clearly think I'm God's gift to humanity?"
I am now living for the day when this guy is chosen for the waiver wire.

Re: Free Agency 2023 thread
Robbie Anderson is a waste. He was a complete JO with the Jets and wanted out, did the same crap in Carolina, and got cut from Arizona.
He is a bad apple and got arrested multiple times and kicked out of games. He is an average WR/PR with speed but a complete jerkoff and rotten teammate.
