Belichick Is No Shula
Can't win much of anything without Brady, including that time he missed the playoffs one season after fielding a team that entered the Super Bowl 18-0 (but didn't leave with the 0, hee hee).
Meanwhile, Shula went unbeaten without a Hall Of Fame QB for most of that season, reached another Super Bowl with David Woodley, and got to 9-2 with Scott Mitchell, Steve Deberg and even a win with Doug Pederson finishing the game. It was actually defensive injuries which ultimately did that team in.
Oh BTW he is also 0-2 VS Shula as a head coach.
When it comes to Shula, Belichick comes up as short as a eunuch in a whorehouse (to borrow a line from the late Jim Mandich).
EDIT: Come to think of it Belichick's no Chuck Noll either, seeing as Noll was still winning playoff games a decade after the Steelers' heyday and even reached a conference title game after almost all the '70s stars had gone.
EDIT #2: Come to think of it, he's no Tom Landry either, seeing as Landry reached a couple of conference title games after HIS Hall Of Fame QB retired.
Tell me why Belichick's supposed to be the Greatest Coach Ever again? He's closer to Mike Shanahan IMO. Both didn't win squat until a 6th round Hall Of Famer happened to fall into their laps. It's just that Belichick's 6th round Hall Of Famer was a QB who might not have been human and stuck around for 20 years instead of a RB whose body gave out on him after 5. Betcha never saw THAT take from anyone before!

Well said! Belichick is a fraud. It becomes more obvious every week that Brady deserves ALL the glory for those rings.

Belicheck appears determined to catch Shula. But hey, it will take him 4 years to do that it looks like---with the Pats going about 21-47 in those four years. While I would not enjoy seeing Shula surpassed, I would enjoy double digit losses for the Patriots annually.
1993 team would have STILL made the playoffs if Troy Vincent doesn't go down vs. Pittsburgh. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Oh and further on the Shula comparison: he got to SB's with Morrall in Baltimore (and to the NFL title game pre-SB with Unitas) and then with Griese, Woodley and Marino in Miami. Every starting QB Shula had for at least an entire season, he took to a SB.
Landry got to a SB with Craig Morton starting in addition to the several with Staubach, and to NFL title games twice with Meredith in addition to the 3 conference championship games in a row with Danny White.
Noll, if he'd made it to one more conference title game after 1984 (he actually came very close, they lost 24-23 to Elway's Broncos in the divisional round in 1989!), he would have done it with Bubby Brister, which would be more impressive than getting there with any of the above IMO.
Joe Gibbs deserves a little special credit, for winning SB's with 3 different QB's, none of whom are in the HOF. Vermeil got to the SB with Warner(HOFer) and Jaworski (not). Reeves is similar, getting there with Elway -- and Chris Chandler.

Shula even Won a Two Games with a RB playing QB when coaching the Colts, Tom Matte was 2-0 including Winning a Playoff Game, Now he was a College Qb but Shula put a Wristband with the Plays on it for him which is in the Hall of Fame.Always innovative with what his Players could do. Not just keeping to a System.
