We shall see.
Wow, I don't think I've ever heard a negative comment about Jones! By every grade I've seen, he has been ranked a top 3 corner the past two seasons and he is one of the few shutdown corners in the NFL now. He's fast, physical and has above average coverage skills, and he is an athletic freak. On paper at least, he's the best corner we've had since Madison/Surtain - and he's probably better than both.
You'd like to see Jones get more INTs, but he is rarely even targeted so his opportunities are limited. He was a bit of a ballhawk in college, so the ability is there.

Rivera love him some Cam Newton. I can see Rivera getting Cam and keeping Haskin as a backup.

Gives us flexibility - if we don't get a starting center in the draft, Karras can start. If we do draft a center, Karras can start at RG or be the primary backup at all three interior positions. Smart signing.

The Cowboys had a hole in their defensive line to fill after defensive tackle Maliek Collins signed a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, one of the casualties of the team’s efforts to keep its trio of Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper together.

Re: NFL Free Agency updates
DT DJ Reader went to the Bengals and DT Linval Joseph went to the Chargers.
Re: NFL Free Agency updates
From what it looks like Miami might be looking into getting some DT in the draft.

Re: NFL Free Agency updates
Todd Gurley cut. I guess the Rams couldn't find a sucker to take on that godawful contract. They now have $20 million in dead cap.
Rams also cut Clay Matthews, who quietly had 8 sacks last season.
I was a huge Gurley fan when he was at Georgia. It's a shame his knee is shot. He's going to have a hard time finding a new team if no one can see him in person...I'm sure teams will want their doctors to check out that knee before they sign him.

Re: NFL Free Agency updates
Damn, I just looked up Gurley's stats and he had 14 total TDs this season (2 receiving and 12 rushing). I didn't realize that. The way people talk about him, I thought he did nothing.
If that knee has anything left, maybe he can still produce in a limited role. I'm sure he'll catch on somewhere with a one-year "prove it" deal.

If Miami would have waited for another day or two Miami would have had Gurley
Rob Goldberg wrote:Todd Gurley has hit the open market and the running back reportedly has recently preferred to land with the Atlanta Falcons or Miami Dolphins, per Josina Anderson of ESPN.
The Los Angeles Rams released Gurley Thursday after spending "weeks" trying to trade him, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move saved the team $10.5 million in guaranteed salary in 2020.
As Anderson noted, the market could now open up for the running back after becoming an unrestricted free agent.
The Dolphins have already filled their running back void by signing Jordan Howard on a two-year, $10 million deal, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, but Gurley would still represent an upgrade at the position when he's at his best.

Re: NFL Free Agency updates
I'd rather have Howard than Gurley TBH. Gurley's a part-time player now, he's another one who can't ever be counted on to play even close to a full season. And they could in theory still sign him. I wouldn't, but they could. Then again, the entire RB group from last season could (and probably should) be replaced.

Re: NFL Free Agency updates
If Miami stays true Gurley will not get paid. I believe he'll turn out to be another Ajayi. I think we need mid level guys in the RB room.
I don't believe we will be a ground and pound team but more of a multi dimensional one. QB and OL are all we need right now. Everything else would be a let down.

Re: NFL Free Agency updates
Gurley isn't a bellcow/workhorse, but I'd take a backfield with Gurley and Howard splitting carries and a rookie learning behind them. Hell yeah. (Again, assuming his knee can hold up...)
