Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
I like Harris' potential, but it wouldn't have been my pick. Browns are going to turn into a real team.

When you have the worst run defense in the NFL, it seems odd to take a player that sucks against the run. But like I said, Harris is probably Wake's replacement. I just don't think he's in Wake's class - at all.
Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
FUCK ME. Browns get Njoku. A+++ for the Brownies tonight. Dawg Pound gonna make some noise!!! UM in the house.
Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Steelers tribute to Dan Rooney = awesome. Bettis and Franco Harris . So great.
And if TJ Watt stays healthy...what an amazing fit for the Steelers.

Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
I would have taken a trade down if the right offer was there at 22.
If not, well, it would have been between Harris, Charlton and Lamp.
Browns having a great night. So is Tampa Bay IMO.

I like DEs that play the run and pass. I would have taken Willis...although I wonder if there's red flags we don't know about. ANd, as much as I hate gards in the first, I would have preferred Lamp over Harris.
LOVE the Bucs taking Howard...that offense is going to be scary. And the Browns? If there was an award for best draft...they'd win it hands down. They improved tremendously tonight, and still have a shitload of picks this year and next. They have the ammo to move up to #1 next year for a franchise QB.

I called the Cleveland trade in another thread! I fucking knew they were looking to get into the first!!!!!

I'm telling you...Browns are going to be scary good in 2-3 years, if not sooner. I absolutely LOVE what they're doing. So awesome that they're not overdrafting crappy QBs...they can wait till next year and trade up for Sam Darnold.
Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Come on man...it's not even midnight on the east coast! Where my west coast boys at??? Umix is representin...where's degarmo?
Can you tell that the beers are flowing over here? LOL

Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Great point by Rich Eisen: the Eagles drafted Barnett - who broke Reggie White's sack record at Tennessee. Damn.
Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Every time the Phins draft a player, I ask myself: does this guy help us pass the Patriots in the standings? When I look at Harris, the answer is "No."
Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
My worst mock draft ever...I got two and a half picks right. The half was the 49ers taking Solomon Thomas at 3...I had them taking him at 2 before the trade. I did not expect all these teams to trade up for crappy QBs and other teams overdrafting WRs.
Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Jags getting Fournette seems to be going under the radar...could end up being the most impactful pick in this class.
I like what most teams did in round one...but the Bears and Chiefs get a grade of F from me - especially the Chiefs, because I don't like Mahomes at all. He looks like Pat White's little brother!

Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
On Harris- I'm reading a lot of people questioning his desire and commitment to football. That's a real bad sign. I see people comparing him to Wake and Freeney, but those guys LIVE for football. I don't know...not feeling the Harris pick at all...

I guess we needed to fill that "fuck it" spot that Dion Jordan left.

Tannenbaum is drawn to busts like a fucking magnet, I swear...
Peppers, White, Tak, Taco, Njoku, TJ Watt, Willis all there for the taking, and of course he ignores them all because in Tannenbaum's twisted little mind, NONE of those guys were ever even a consideration, just unreal. Even a guard would've been better, I am mindfucked that nobody took Lamp yet Does this team even have a second rounder, or is that one of the picks Tanny gave away for fucking CAROO???
Well Jmp, you got what you wanted, they went D with the first pick. be careful what you wish for...

Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Also, gotta love how the FO is raving about Harris's character--one year after they took someone who fell into their lap because he was dumb enough to toke on video So character suddenly matters NOW, does it?

Also, I heard they got MULTIPLE calls from teams wanting to trade up and didn't even answer any of them!!!
Face, meet desk. Desk, face. Just because I saw this coming a mile away didn't mean they had to actually DO it
Harris gets picked, Griz season ends, just a bad bad night. At least I wasn't awake for any of that hot garbage.

Atlanta was pissing themselves trying to move up. We should have traded with them.

And get MORE picks??? Why would Tannenbaum ever do a crazy thing like that???
(Breaks down sobbing.)
The sad part is, the Falcons probably got the guy they wanted all along anyway.

Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Yeah trading down and getting Lamp would have made my night. One thing that consoles me is I've yet to see a grade below B by the draftniks.

And I bet they pissed themselves for another reason after watching Tak on stage. That dude is a disaster.
Re: LIVE DRAFT THREAD
Would have loved to have gotten Atlanta's 31 and more picks. Willis and Lamp still there, Foster would have been up for consideration too. Damn.
Cook will be gone within two picks tonight IMO, don't see any way Seattle wouldn't grab him. Agree that Packers are likely to take Lamp with the first pick tonight.
I think we could have gotten Harris at 31, myself.
Though I'm kinda glad McKinley wasn't our guy now.
