Those would make absolutely perfect sense. Which is why we're about to see something completely opposite guaranteed.

I'm glad Gary's gone. Just wouldn't have been crazy about him at 13 at all.
The time has come! Haskins? A D-lineman?

Okay, I'm cool with it. Sweat would've been good too but at least they didn't go brain dead like they usually do.

Re: DRAFT THREAD
No problem with taking Wilkins, he fits in either a 4-3 or a 3-4. Would have liked extra picks, but no problem with the player.

Re: DRAFT THREAD
Most mocks I saw had the Fins taking Wilkins here and liked the pick BTW.

Sometimes it's best to go quality over quantity. Just ask Sashi Brown. Ultimately it's all about getting the best players possible.

Re: DRAFT THREAD
Perfect for multiple fronts - can play anywhere on the line. Super smart, strong, athletic. Hell yeah - this guy can transform the defense. Get a pass rusher and off we go!!!
Re: DRAFT THREAD
I do kinda wish the Fins could somehow find a way to nab that other Clemson DT though. No way he falls to their next pick.

I've seen Brian Burns compared to JT. Seriously. Armando said he got a text from the Fins' FO downplaying that comparison, to put it politely.

Re: DRAFT THREAD
Skins could get Haskins without moving up. He'll be a bust at QB but from a tactical standpoint it at least looks like a smart move on paper.

Re: DRAFT THREAD
I want a QB but a big man to bust up the middle against the AFC QBs is nice.

I don't like Burns...too weak. He's a project - needs to add muscle and learn some pass rush moves. Can't just run around guys in the NFL.

I'm sure the same things were being said about JT in '97. Just relaying what I've been seeing people say about him. And he's already bulked up and has that mesomorph V-shaped upper torso to add even more.
What other pass rusher would you prefer?

BTW is it just me or has this draft been zooming by the last 10 picks or so?

Re: DRAFT THREAD
BTW I will post this year's SACKSEER article (same metrics that predicted Harris would be a bust) sometime later.

Wilkins great pick.
Clearly, teams don’t like Haskins. Except Skins and they are not good

Re: DRAFT THREAD
So far it's 3 for 3 with obvious QB picks.
No way Haskins actually pans out though, but better the Skins than the Fins

JT was drafted in round 3 though...I don't want a project in round one. Montez Sweat all day over Burns. There's some quality pass rushers that will go tomorrow too that I'd take over Burns - Jaylon Ferguson, Zach Allen, etc. And don't sleep on Oshane Ximines from Old Dominion...could be a steal in the 3rd or 4th round.

I'm glad people other than the usual night shift are showing up
Buckeyes QBs have an NFL pedigree that's beyond horrible BTW. Like, if Haskins even becomes an average backup he'll still be the best drafted one ever.

Re: DRAFT THREAD
Man, loving the Wilkins pick. Imagine the Phins having an intelligent, enthusiastic player that's good in the locker room! Been a long time...hopefully we've seen the end of the emotionless robots that Philbin and Gase collected.

No way Sweat will be available to this team without a MAJOR trade up, which is why I'm not even considering him.
The SACKSEER article covers Allen and Ximines, but not Ferguson for some reason.
And it's all moot anyway because Burns just went off the board

Re: DRAFT THREAD
Okay, either the Panthers and I are right, or Jmp is. There can be no middle ground. I still say Burns could be the next JT.

Could be...depends how much he wants it.
Sweat's heart condition must be a real concern...can't believe he's still on the board.
