Cringey listening to Grier actually defend the Rosen trade Evil or Very Mad This team literally would've gotten the same level of production from Jake Rudock or an undrafted rookie.

That what he is suppose to do though. Would you want him to tell people in an interview that it was a horrible deal and we messed up. Then people would be skeptical about his skills in being a GM

First of all, people already are skeptical based on pretty much everything he's done up to this point. Second, that doesn't mean he has to outright lie and act like Rosen's making all this progress. Third, if Rosen's doing so well then there would be no need to take a QB in the first round at all, right?

I have no problem at all with the Rosen trade, even though it failed. You get a young highly-ranked QB for a minimal salary and a couple of draft picks - one of which you regained in the following draft...it's a no brainer. You have to be committed to improving the QB position whenever and however possible. This was a low-risk gamble that didn't work out - but the reasoning behind it was sound and exactly how I want my GM to work.
