Running backs?
This looks like a stellar draft for a running back. I know we just signed Howard but I think Jonathan Taylor would bring a dynamic we haven’t seen since Ricky Williams.

Re: Running backs?
I think Taylor and Dobbins are my top backs. Taylor is a complete back with great vision and excellent speed. I'm a big fan.
I'd prefer to take Tua at 5, and OL at both 18 and 26. And then a RB in round 2. But I would definitely be fine with Taylor at 26.

I like Taylor as well. He reminds me of a Adriane Peterson the way he runs through tackles.

I think I have Clyde Edwards Helaire as my #3 back. The Phins will probably have him ranked high because of his above average receiving skills.
I'm not real high on Swift - great player for sure and I won't complain if he's a Phin, but something about him just doesn't work for me...not exactly sure what it is.

I not totally sure if Miami will go after another RB. At the moment Miami has six RB on the roster. It would be hard to believe that Miami will go after another one.

I actually think they'll draft 2 backs. Yes, we have 6 backs currently - but Howard is the only real keeper. Laird is not awful and could earn a spot on the regular roster, Gaskin is ideal for the practice squad, and the rest are basically useless.

i would be ecstatic if the Phins ended up with Edwards-Helaire.

They need to draft at least one RB, perhaps two.

Re: Running backs?
Okay okay, I'm convinced!
Even CEH would've been a far better pick than Mr. Inactive Iggy

Re: Running backs?
Yeah, but if we did take CEH we certainly would be lambasting Grier over missing on Taylor. And rightly so.

CEH hasn't much better than Gaskin, if at all. If the Dolphins drafted him we'd all be calling him a bust.

The issue isn't whether he'd be better than Gaskin, the issue is that he'd definitely be better than Iggy. Which he would be simply by playing and not being the league's worst RB.
When a GM makes multiple first round picks that you can arguably say are the worst players in the league at their positions, it's time to fire that GM.

Re: Running backs?
I don't disagree...just pointing out that CEH would not have moved the needle in any way for the Phins.
Re: Running backs?
I agree. We would need CEH and Andy too!
