Tua thought about retiring

Miami definitely needs a Tua backup plan considering Tua almost retired last year. Is he going to retire if he sustains another head injury?

Re: Tua thought about retiring
I don't think he almost retired. I think he considered all options, retirement being one of them. But he has clearly committed himself to playing football, and multiple doctors have told him that is he is not at increased risk for additional concussions. Full speed ahead!
Re: Tua thought about retiring
One more major concussion and he could be looking at retirement IMO.
Would any of you risk permanent brain damage to play football?
I wouldn't.
I sincerely hope the whole concussion thing GOES AWAY entirely this year and Tua is the Phins long term answer at QB. I don't know if the jui jitsu thing is going to help. As stated before, I am all in favor of Tua wearing one of those ridiculous looking double helmets. Anything that keeps him on the field and non-concussed.
Not as big maybe as Darth Helmet's but... sorta similar.

Concussions were never an issue for Tua before, so I'm not expecting them to be an issue moving forward. But if he does sustain another concussion, it does not mean his career is, or should be, over. Tons and tons of players have experienced far more concussions than Tua, who has just two that we know of, and have gone on to play long careers.
And, for the record, I am totally on board with Tua wearing a Darth Helmet-style helmet!
