Ramsey is having surgery for meniscus tear and the ACL is intact will miss beginning of Regular season, didn't give Timeline.

More info and clarity on #Dolphins star CB Jalen Ramsey: Sources say while no firm determination will be made until surgery, the likely outcome is a full meniscus repair, bringing Ramsey back in December if all goes well. The best and healthiest option.

FUCK!!! Better than the whole season, but December??? Man, that sucks.

The Jalen Ramsey injury is extremely unfortunate but shows exactly why the Miami #Dolphins selected Cam Smith in the second round.

He will now make a strong push to be a starter alongside Xavien Howard and Kader Kohou.

I’m told #Dolphins coaches have been uber-impressed by Smith’s natural football instincts, patience, and his abilities to read routes in camp so far.

Also hearing that Holland could play the 'star' role (hybrid safety/corner/nickle) that Ramsey was expected to play. Holland played a similar role in college.

NFL Network is saying Best Case is 6-8 Weeks, Worse Case is December. Won't know until Surgery.

Also why hiring a coach like Fangio is so smart. Coaches don't go down to injury. His scheme can hide a lot of weaknesses.

I still say the Phins drafted Smith so they could jettison X Howard next season.

And yet again.... I am more worried about the OLine and Oline depth than I am about DBs.

Of course, a few more DBs go down and things could Change!! Shocked

Yeah, right now the secondary depth is very strong and they can afford a loss - even Ramsey. But we better not see a situation like last season, where I think pretty much everyone other than Holland missed time!

Dolphins defense worked on their pressures and blitzes at Friday’s third practice of training camp, and the pass rush was all over the QBs. Double-digit sacks for team, led by four from Christian Wilkins, three from Duke Riley. Wilkins was CHIRPING.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

The news about the defense sacking the QBs is wonderful, but it just REINFORCES... PROVES... BUTTRESSES... my FEAR that the Phins Oline is going to be the major weakness of the team and ultimately the deciding factor in another stinky season for the Phish!

I sincerely hope I am wrong but if Armstead is out for any length of time the whole left side could be horrendous I am thinking?

And without that outside zone run (to the left side mostly), the whole McD offense is gonna be stuffed I am afraid.

It's still early, and I am going to wait and see but I had a sorta bad feeling last year about the Oline and it never got much better and now...

I sure hope the backups and free agents signed this year are the real deal. Not having a MAJOR drop-off from "Barely Adequate" to "Eek! Better than a Corpse I Guess" to "Geeze! I wish they would put a corpse in there!!" would be a major improvement I guess. Neutral

Armstead and Wynn are off the PUP and practicing today.

Sounds like Cam Smith has been balling and looks like the real deal. Let's hope that carries over to the regular season.

A couple of notes I saw from today's practice:

--Tua and the offense had their best day, with Tua carving up the first-team D.
--Waddle has been fantastic all camp.
--David Long has been a monster since day 1 and looks like afreee agent steal from what I'm reading.
--Rookies showing up: Achane making plays, Cam Smith looking great, and RB Chris Brooks had a 95-yard TD run on the final play of practice!

Left side of Dolphins’ O-line just opened a HUGE lane for RB Chris Brooks that got the offensive sideline ROARING to end practice. Tua high-stepped like 50 yds to celebrate w/ Brooks.

Best day of practice for O so far.

I read several people's reports from camp today - all trustworthy sources - and they all said that Liam Eichenberg looked............really good in pass pro! Shocked

Too early to get excited about it, but certainly a good sign on August 1, if nothing else.

Picked in the second round this past April, the Miami #Dolphins may have gotten a steal in CB Cam Smith, who is now going to handle the majority of work in place of Jalen Ramsey.

Smith has made several eyebrow-raising plays throughout training camp; the hope is now he can continue this when games begin to count towards the standings.

A few things that stood out from today's camp reports:

--Tua to Waddle and Hill has been unstoppable.
--Tua struggled in between the 20s today, but was absolutely dominant in the red zone: 4 trips, 4 TDs. Sounds like he is doing a great job at avoiding pressure and taking the short pass when needed.
--Ingold and the RBs are making plays in the passing game.
--I've never typed these words before, but Tindall made a big play today.
--It sounds like Wilkins has been an absolute beast every single day.
--Also hearing good things about Raekwon Davis.
--Sounds like Feeney is making a strong push for the LG spot.
