Time For Anthony Richardson To Retire!!!
He got a concussion by hitting his head on the turf, and according to the media that's grounds for walking away. Because SURELY the rules that apply to Tua also apply to other players, right?
Also, I love how the article just casually throws in that oh BTW Ryan Kelly got one too.

I'm expecting both to play next week with no further media mention of it at all, of course.

Re: Time For Anthony Richardson To Retire!!!
What's even more interesting, Richardson SELF-REPORTED that he had concussion symptoms!!!
How does THAT happen? I thought the NFL was hyper-focused on the concussion issue?
Only if it is a Miami QB I guess?

Like everything else in this league, the whole concussion-monitoring situation is completely arbitrary and inconsistent. Josh Allen takes hits to the head every week, and I've never seen him pulled to check for a potential concussion. Then you see plays where a player's head was never even touched, and he gets pulled. Just be consistent - that's all.

Re: Time For Anthony Richardson To Retire!!!
Like every other absurd 2020s overreaction to a situation, the whole spotter thing has resulted in more harm than good and now just looks silly and stupid. Meanwhile, MORE players than ever are getting concussions, or at least more after 2 games than I can ever recall. Once again it becomes painfully obvious the NFL is merely giving lip service to player safety and like every other SJW cause isn't actually DOING anything to solve the issue.

And here we go...

Notice the tone of the bolded part. This is the same media who openly rooted for Tua to not only retire, but for the Fins to be booted from the league for even THINKING about letting him play again. Now, they're so concerned about player safety that they're openly rooting for another team's QB to play the next game after getting a concussion! What happened to all that screaming and screeching about how the NFL HAS to do SOMETHING about concussions RIGHT NOW? Just the same old "rules for thee but not for me" SJW nonsense.

Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson got off to a hot start in the second game of his NFL career, rushing for two touchdowns early in today’s divisional matchup with the Texans. Richardson had to exit the game in the first half, though, after sustaining a concussion that would hold him out for the remainder of the contest. Richardson was replaced by backup quarterback Gardner Minshew, who helped secure the team’s first win of the season. Richardson will need to go through concussion protocols in order to return to the field. This season, the protocols for return take about five days to get through, meaning Richardson absolutely has a chance to return for Week 3 if he can pass the necessary tests. If not, Minshew will continue to play in relief.

and Denver S Kareem Jackson will NOT be suspended for his targeted hit on TE Thomas' head (see the video in the article) despite being ejected from the game and having previous similar violations.
https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/news/kareem-jackson-illegal-hit-commanders-nfl-suspension
that's a real WTF moment. and of course he is free to play and target as many Dolphins as he would like this weekend.

NFL media: Uh oh! If we keep being silent about the record number of concussions players seem to be getting, people might catch on that we don't really care about player safety at all! QUICK, let's put out a random story about an assistant coach getting raided by the FBI and then tell everybody our own story's not true! THAT'LL get them to believe we're trustworthy!
At this point IDK whether to laugh or sob into a pillow.

That was a vicious hit. No suspension, but yeah...player safety is a priority.

Such hypocrisy. I wish I could say I was surprised.
