Re: Where's Cam Smith
It's absolutely unacceptable that Smith NEVER plays on defense. If the guy isn't ready to see the field even in a blowout, that's on the coaching staff.
The whole defensive scheme was an absolute disaster Sunday, but I guess that's a much bigger issue that a draft bust.

Re: Where's Cam Smith
Barring injuries or something unexpected Sunday, cornerback Cam Smith will end his rookie season with just 18 defensive snaps in 17 games.
That’s disappointing for the second-rounder, considering Jalen Ramsey missed seven games this season and Xavien Howard (foot injury) is expected to miss his fourth game Sunday against visiting Buffalo (8:20 p.m., NBC).
So what does Smith need to do to eventually become a factor, this season or next?
“Just improve in all areas,” defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Thursday. “Assignment, technique, execution, know how. Improve in all areas.”
In Howard’s absence, Fangio said he will ride with Eli Apple and Kader Kohou as the other cornerbacks alongside Ramsey. “Eli recently has been playing better than earlier in the season,” Fangio said.
This marks the second consecutive year that a Dolphins defensive coordinator opted not to use Miami’s top defensive draft pick.
Rookie inside linebacker Channing Tindall, picked 102nd overall in 2022, played only nine defensive snaps as a rookie and 12 this season.

Cam Smith must really suck. i mean really, is there is anything he can do marginally well?
and it appears the same is true of Tindall too. what a waste of necessary draft assets.

Re: Where's Cam Smith
A complete waste of assets with Tindall and Smith. And the worst part is, LB and CB are the thinnest positions on defense. Getting NOTHING out of these two players is an absolute killer.
That Fangio comment really says it all: Smith needs to improve in ALL areas! It sure sounds to me like he hasn't shown any development/improvement over the course of the season at all. He's averaging ONE defensive snap per game!! Can you imagine just how bad he really is when the coaches don't trust him enough to get multiple snaps per game on a team that has had CB injuries throughout the season??
