DRAFT 2021 day 2

Looking at the available players, my guess is the Phins will not go RB at pick 36. There is great value at OL, LB and DL, and the best safety in the draft is still available.

Some names I'll be watching for in round 2:
OL Teven Jenkins, Creed Humphrey, Landon Dickerson, Aaron Banks, Quinn Meinerz
RB Javonte Williams, Trey Sermon
S Trevon Moehrig
LB Azeez Ojulari, Baron Browning, Joseph Ossai
DT Christina Barmore, Levi Onwuzurike
DE Boogie Basham

Lots of other good players, but these are some guys I like for the Phins.

Koramoah and Williams are at the top of my list. Humphrey is nasty in the trenches. They are my top 3.

Honorable mention, Jevon Holland FS ball hawk from Oregon.

Oh yes, Holland should be on my list for sure.

Owusu-Koramoah is a helluva player...very small, but he has a unique skillset that could bring flexibility to the D. Pass rush specialist, big safety, cover TEs...real interesting player.

I think, if I had to make the choice, I'm down to 2 players at 36: Ojulari and Jenkins. Barmore is really hard to pass up even though DT isn't really a need, and there are a bunch of other players I like, but I think those are my top 2...subject to change, of course.

I want more 2nd rounders!!! Any team willing to take Grant for a 2nd?? Anyone???

Grant should be relegated to special teams. Purely a return specialist

Yeah, at this point I'm completely done with him as a receiver. What good is getting open if you can't catch the damn ball?

The PFN Draft Simulator removes the 1st round picks and lets you pick up in the 2nd!!!

6. Jaylen Waddle WR Alabama
18. Jaelan Phillips EDGE Miami (FL)

36. Javonte Williams RB North Carolina - Creed Humphrey, Barmore, or got for the RB? After what happened last year, I suspect Grier will go for the RB this year, but I am also about half-convinced they think they can get a RB later that will be just as good. So, the Center may be the pick.

50. Landon Dickerson OC Alabama - I like Dickerson. I think he will be the OC for the next 10 years and do a bang up job. Plus, he has played all over the O-line.

81. Jackson Carman OT Clemson - Man, I wanted Nico Collins, but.... I took the best OT left on the board.

156. Divine Deablo S Virginia Tech - I doubt Grier goes for a Safety, but...

231. Isaiah McDuffie LB Boston College - Do they need a late round LB?

244. Mustafa Johnson DT Colorado - DT with some potential.

Picks 36, 50, and 81 are going to tell the tale of this draft IMO. Grier has done a great job of getting IMPACT, if he can continue to do that, the Phins will be set for the beginning of their Super Bowl Run!!

I'm thinking the available talent is too good to take a RB at 36, but Williams would certainly be another home run swing.

Oh, I saw several that were intriguing, but I wanted to see what was available at the Phins current picks.

I traded, traded, and traded again on another one and ended up with 14 players I think!!!

But the Phins are fairly SET on the roster IMO. Hopefully the first five make the team and make a big difference. The others are for depth and developmental players I am thinking.

Except for that 7th round RB they want who will lead the team in rushing.... again....

Damn, now I'm back on the Javonte train! Just watching some of his highlight videos again and he is a beast. I wish he had more experience as a receiver, but he has the ability.

First I must state that I may be in the minority but I loved what they did last night. Waddle and Phillips were my most mocked players in those two spots. I understand the concern with Phillips and his concussions but I am trusting that the Fins were fine with the medicals.

Yes we need more 2nd round picks. There are a bunch of guys I'm hoping the Fins draft but we will only get two without a trade.

If it comes down to Teven Jenkins or Jevonte Williams who do you all have? It's got to be Jenkins, right?

I was hesitant about Waddle at first, but I have grown to love the pick.  And I was shocked that we actually got Phillips...I thought he'd go top 15.  As I said, bottom line: 2 picks, 2 impact players.  I'm very happy!

Jenkins vs. Williams is such a tough call.  You can make great arguments for each of them.  The thing with Williams is, if you don't get him there's a big dropoff at RB.  I feel like if we don't get Jenkins, there are other options...including lots of good guards, if we keep Hunt at tackle.  I'd be happy with either!

I am loving the draft this year as I am more in tune with it than I ever have been.  I still don't know most of the players, who they are or how good they are, but I know more than I ever have thanks to me discovering podcasts this past year.  

Good pick for Jets - WR Elijah Moore.  He's like a poor man's Waddle.

Yeah, its awesome - there are some many resources available online, it makes it easy to get up to speed on players pretty quickly.

I tried to get on here last night but my internet crashed. I was lucky to even get to watch the first round on TV.

Broncos just traded up and took Javonte Williams!  Guess they were scared the Phins would take him.

So now I'm back to my original Jenkins or Ojulari, with Barmore and Moehrig in the mix too.
