Tua can't read defense
Miami is in a pickle. Tua can't read the pre-snap alignments up front so he can't audible protection. He doesn't have an offensive coaching staff that has the experience to teach him what's happening up front. Rookie coaches for the position teaching a rookie. This offensive scheme is doomed to fail without some changes.

Wait, one of our OCs was the coordinator in Houston for a number of years, wasn't he?

Tua's pre-snap awareness was excellent against New England - that's how he was able to change to a pass on the play at the end of the game where he sealed the victory. Does he need to improve in that area? Of course, just like every other QB in their second year.
Do you even know if it is the QB's job to change protections in this offense? My understanding is that the center handles those calls for the Dolphins. Regardless, it's not Tua's job to block a defender one-on-one.
We don't have rookie coaches running the offense. I don't know where you got that idea. Godsey has been in the NFL for 10 years, and Studesville for almost 25 years. Godsey was OC with the Texans for just 2 seasons. In his first season, with Brian Hoyer at QB and Alfred Blue as the top RB, the Texans ranked #12 in points and #6 in yards.

Studesville's mainly been a RBs coach for the last 20 years, which says something right there. He was an interim coach for the Broncos in 2010 (1-3) but went right back to being a RBs coach until Flores for some reason thought he could be an OC but not really so he hired Godsey for the same job.

Godsey is 12 years younger than Studesville (I kinda sorta remember him playing for Georgia Tech) and has worked in the NFL mostly as a TEs/QBs coach (with one weird year as a "defensive assistant" for the Lions thrown in). He at least has prior C experience for the Texans in 2015-16, with his offenses gaining far more yards than points including somehow finishing 26th in scoring but 10th in yardage in '16. So he knows how to run a really inefficient offense.

Really not sure how either guy is a good OC. At least Godsey has youth on his side and has been a QB coach before. Studesville is just a coaching journeyman.

well, except that he wasn't really running that offense. that was Bill O'Brien, the HC that ran the offense (supposedly brought from his years in NE) and Godsey was the OC in name only. he was more or less an offensive quality control/assistant...like he had been in NE in 2011 - under then NE OC O'Brien.

They may or may not be good OCs, but we don't know that after 2 games. Point is, these are NOT rookie coaches - they both have tons of experience.
