DRAFT 2021 round 1: rumors, projections, news, etc.

Zaven Collins to Arizona, so we are guaranteed a top 2 RB on the board. Also still have Darrisaw and Owusu-Koramoah. Either would be a strong pick also IMO (Hunt-Darrisaw on the right side? Intriguing).

A lot of good options for sure!

Trevon Moehrig at safety would be interesting too at 18...probably too high, but helluva player.

Leatherwood at 17 seems like a reach to me. Good player though.

Ok, we could actually trade down a few spots here and I'd be OK with it. There's 4 players I'd be really happy with.

Leatherwood to Raiders.  Alabama owning the draft.

Jaelen Phillips's concussions really scare me. Uneasy with the pick, put it this way he wasn't one of the four I mentioned.

WOW did Grier fuck this up. About as bad a first round as he possibly could've had. There are no words. SMH.

WE have the right coach, but with Grier as GM he's basically entering every fight blindfolded and with one arm tied behind his back. Just NO chance of winning anything substantial with a player evaluation process as severely flawed as this. Just what the hell is Grier's obsession with injury-prone players anyway???

As is the case any other year, literally all of us could've drafted better than this team in real life. It never fails.

I think you may have to make room at the top of your all-time worst Fins drafts ever list. I'm totally serious. To have this much draft capital and blow it like this...

I like Phillips, but the concussions, man, that's a hard sell.

I could have sworn we were going to go with Harris or Etienne there. Maybe they're targeting one of the NC kids in the 2nd or 3rd.

Wow!  Surprise pick!  I am a big Jae Phillips fan.  The concussions are of course a huge concern, but I had him as a sure-fire top 15 pick.  He fits the profile for what the Phins want...he's huge, excellent run stopper and has high-end pass rush ability.  And...he's a Cane!!!

I really, really wanted a RB there, but I'll take a pass rusher.  Filled a need with a very good player, and good value at 18.

Two picks, two home run swings.  Again, time will tell if it's strikeout or homerun, but Grier is taking big cuts tonight.  

Fastest offensive player, top pass rusher.  Not how I saw it playing out and not what I would have done, but I can't complain.  Taking shots at greatness is never a bad thing.

Yep.  The Phins apparently felt comfortable enough with his medicals to take a chance...we'll see.  But yes, he has beast potential in this defense.  Could be a colossal upgrade over Shaq Lawson!

Well, everybody wanted impact.  We just got two impact players.  These guys are both game-changers.

I'm with you, JMP, at the absolute least, they swung for the fences tonight.

There are a lot of good value picks later on in this draft, including some real interesting prospects, like that kid I had as our 7th round pick in my last mock, Chris Garrett. I think we can get a solid RB in the next round or two and still manage to address the OL.

Who else can we pick named Jaelan or Jaylen?

See if Steelers take Etienne or Harris here... they could also go OL.
