They knew that when they made the trade.  I assume that means they didn't have him ranked higher than Smith/Chase/whoever.

As long as Smith is the guy at 6 it's all good

I don't blame Atlanta for trying to make the most out of Ryan's last few years. With 3 QB's already gone I'd swing for the fences rather than take the 4th.

Yep.  Smart move to make while you're paying Ryan for at least 2 more years.  No reason to draft a project QB at 4 that isn't going to see the field any time soon.  They could make some noise this season with that offense.
